Hey guys, I'm looking to convert my current rig to 80/20 or something similar. I figured I would start with just converting the seat mover "L" part to get a taste for it.

I run worm gears but plan on something similar to below in pictures.

Can anyone chime in on what size 80/20 would work well? Would the 10 or 15 series work or do I need to go bigger? Any advice would be awesome.

Sure looks pretty, But Damn is it pricey unless your getting near "cost" prices.

I know one dude with 200+ METER's worth of 80/20 in his build.:eek:

Yeah I was looking at all used and over stock lots to start doing it with but dang it is still crazy expensive.

My grandfather has welding equipment so I think I'm gonna take some pointers from him this weekend and take a shot at welding up a seat frame as my first test project with steel. I don't mind the wood, but I upgraded to a fiberglass seat which means I can't just connect to the seat like I did in the past. I will post a picture of my temporary solution once my phone dries out from the fight it got into with my coffee. You'll get a laugh out of my fast wood working solutions.

What about PVC pipe PN 18, #80 rating, 50mm pipe ? Its been done already by another sim builder recently, cost a bit more than steel, lighter than steel, cheaper than aluminium, well in Australia it is.
    Simple to put together.

Haha yeah, I'm in basement on cement floor and I like to do what my brother @rundmg likes to call rapid prototyping. So I started building the base but wanted to test how that motor position worked on the back first so bolted that sucker straight to the floor.

I had a spare jrk I jacked up while learning so it didn't work right so I'm hooking a new one up tonight and hopefully get to see it moving left to right.
