I was wondering if I can get some passive subs off eBay as they are really cheap and then dismember them and hook them up to an amp and then attach them to the motion sim.

Is it that easy or am I missing something ?

Up today if you want really good shaking IMO the only software which supports dedicated shaking and supports any games but not all sounds is called Simvibe. Furthermore you probably need a second soundcard.

Yeah I have a dedicated sound aswell as onboard sound, I was just asking if any subwoofer will do the trick, as in I rip it out of its box and attach it to the motion sim. Because you can get them really cheap or do you have to get some kind of preferred subwoofer ?

there are so cheap tactile transducer (I choose bass shaker) on the market btw at eBay why not buy them instead of a subwoofer?

PS: Simvibe can only support what the game is providing. In fact Assetto Corsa offers only Engine and shifting. Other games offer more options like road textures or driving wind, holes and other stuff.

    Yup, i bought 2 of these: http://m.ebay.com/itm/261529069605?nav=SEARCH

Driving them with old stereo amp and with Simvibe they surely do the job. In my project log "2dof beginner rig" there is some pictures of how I installed them.

About Assetto Corsa support, there was available also road bumps and road texture effect along engine and shifting. Tested just briefly, but I think they were working. Wasn't sure, because engine was mixed so loud as default and that was basically all I felt. Must set it properly up at some point and test again.

    Thanks again guys,

I'm really struggling to find something the same on the eBay.co.uk site. Are these any good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Face...3?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item51bcec3979

I think I may just get those you have linked to. Would just 2 of them be enough as they seem very small just 88mm ?

Sorry another question I have an old Sony cinema amp in the loft I can blow the dust of and use would that be able to power them or would it be easier just getting a car amp like this
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Hi-F...6?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item46238825ee
    Cheers,
    Craig.

Great news but do not forget in AC all chassis or road effects are still missing. Nobody knows when it will definitely done. Sure there are other games for playing with but IMO AC is the favorite game at the moment.

Assetto Corsa missing road effects? Not for me , Monza is a teeth rattler with that track.

Only Monza? And which settings do you tried out, the texture one or the other bumps and holes? This would be interesting, obvious AC make no data available at the moment. Later on today I will say more on that issue when I tested the track.

just heave, set the number right down low to feel road effects.
its just too dark in the garage to do a video of the sim in action, but I can assure you that heave is set to 20% at 0.5 , and I get a nice rattle, especially from the old lotus.
I will do a video in 2-3 months time when there is more usable daylight.
