I found the following LED strip light power supply on ebay and I am wondering if this would be useful for a 2DOF simulator. it is 24V 15A.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-to-DC-24V-15 ... 075wt_1251

I am still putting together my list of materials and I want to make sure I got the right items. I am also looking at the Sabertooth 12A dual motor driver based on the results of adbgg. Thoughts?

    [strike]I'd go for a 30A version:

Bought 2 of those myself, but they haven't arrived yet.[/strike]

Sorry, my mistake! Should learn to read first, missed the fact that you are talking about a 24V supply which results in the same wattage ;)

I have seven power supplies like that in different applications, from 5V to 48 V. All work great. If you need 24V, and 15 A is enough, then it'll probably do the job.

My sim has two 15V 500W units and one 5/12V unit.

According to the diagram I found online, the same power supply can handle 3 devices.

Unfortunately, I made my first mistake and I ordered the wrong motors but I have two 12V wiper motors that I am tempted to use instead. The thought being that as long as I keep them within the rated current I should be OK. Has anybody tried this?

15volts is probably getting a bit high as the wipers are really only rated to 14v, however under load that 15v should drop 0.5 a volt anyway.
Wire it up and puts fans on the motors if they get hot.
