    Schweden-Rallye

This belongs in the commercial sim section, the Admins @Historiker and @RaceRay can assist in shifting it there.

Nice rig :thumbs. That noise although would drive me nuts :). You could change out those steppers for a compatible servo motor, but unfortunately it could get expensive.

I believe the immersion this rig provides must be fantastic. It's a great concept imo, but I doubt the SCN6's are suitable for that. I'd be concerned about the actuators' radial load capacity being too low for people using load cell brakes with higher brake forces. However, there are mechanical solutions for that.
The problem is the noise...that would drive me nuts as well.

    Moved.

In future please post in English as well as your native language. It makes it easier for others to interact with you.

Nice rig, the noise doesn't bother me at all, considering the racket that mine makes

There are no SCN6 but Frex HyperAxis with 100kg lift capacity, but the issue remains radial load.

Which Mechanical solutions do you mean?

I've put some thought into this concept a while ago and worked out a way I would handle this issue.
It's a brace going from the geometrical centre of the 3 actuators to the rear end of the rig in the centre. There has to be a ball joint/rod end under the seat and at the back as well. They have to be on the same level and the centre of the ball joint under the seat has to be on the same level as the mounting points of the actuators (that's important).
My rig is a conventional seat mover with rear traction loss and that means it would be easy to accommodate that brace. With your rig it's a bit different as your frame is quite short.
You need a bit of space behind the seat in order to fit a brace long enough. That's because heave is causing a slight movement of the seat frame in longitudinal direction (I calc'd it, from memory approx. 1.3mm max.). The actuators have to be mounted on rubbers anyway so that's not a problem imo.
That's the way I would do it because it's simple and cheap.
However, there was a discussion on the virtualracing forum there with you in Germany and guys there mentioned other options (that's why I was using plural 'solutions'). I was asking questions there and was hoping it's possible to have an open discussion about this, but that didn't work - no answers.
    Maybe you're lucky.

Thanks for the quick and rich response.

Do you think so in the way, as I have implemented it with my 2-Dof-SCN6 system?

No worries. I'm very particular when it comes to geometry...must have something to do with my job :)
What I described before is very different to these rods you got there on your rig. I've noticed them on many rigs, but decided against them on my own rig...for geometrical reasons.
I tell you a bit about this and you can decide for yourself whether you want to use this information or throw it in the rubbish bin ;-)
I've discussed this only once briefly. A mate of mine has got a 3dof seat mover as well and he told me they are being used in order to prevent the seat frame from rotating or, to be more precise, take stress off the steering knuckle he's using on his rig.
There may be other ideas behind it as well. I would say it relieves the u-joint from loads coming from applying pressure to the brake pedal as well.
The problem I've got with these rods, is, they produce tension and tangential loads on the u-joint due to the way they are geometrically arranged.
People using it must be either not aware of it, or they think it doesn't matter. However, I don't like this concept...and my u-joint is solid enough to cope with the loads anyway.
The brace I'd use for stabilising the seat frame does have a geometrical issue built-in as well, but as I said, it is just about 1mm and because the actuators are mounted on rubbers it won't cause issues.
It would have to be a bent tube for two reasons. One, there's the rear actuator in the way and, two, you have to avoid a clash with the seat frame when it tilts back. I'd pick a 30/30mm steel tube.
    Hope that helps a bit.
As I said before I like this concept very much. That combined with rear traction loss would be my personal favourite. Have you actually tried finding less noisy actuators?
Btw. are there really commercial aspects involved. Your fist post doesn't indicate that to me...or am I missing something here? :)

    Side by side comparison

with my two tri-motion systems I designed

vsp Tri-Motion with 350 watt geared motors

    versus

vsp Tri-Motion with HyperAxis Linear Drive

    Conclusion

side by side test and building experience

I prefer my Tri-Motion system with the HyperAxis linear motors from Frex !
This motion system has significantly more power and is significantly more sensitive. You will see it in the Video
However, you have to reckon with a material insert of 4,000, - €.
The DIY construction time is however significantly shorter with approx. 5 hours

The Tri-Motion with the geared motors from SimuKit
is a cost-effective motion solution with a material insert of approx. 2.000, - € and my DIY construction time of approx. 20 hours.

@vsp19, how are the DuraHyperAxis compared to just the regular HyperAxis from Frex? I believe they have the same power specifications so are they just more durable? If the noise level is better then that alone would make it worth it.

HelloEverything is the same between DuraHyperAxis and HyperAxis

Except the output bearing and the piston rod that should endure more

More exact request please contact Frex.

PS. the noise DuraHyperAxis versus HyperAxis are the same

Thanks for the reply and information @vsp19. I’ll look to upgrading to the HyperAxis in the future. I just wish they offered it in 150mm.
