    Hello,
I have a problem with the software, i use the dirt 3 games and it does not work in offline.
No problem if the computer is connected to internet.
    I tested this:
1.) Turn on the computer without ethernet cable
2.) I run the sim tool Application 1.3
    3.) I launch the game Dirt 3
Result: the simulator does not move games
4.) Game in progress, I plug the ethernet cable
Result: Menu icons in the game engine switches to blue and the simulator starts moving !
    * Precision : After that, I can remove the cable it works every time.
Do you have a solution to remedy this problem please ?
    Thank you

Are you using 2 computers in your setup?
If yes its because you disconnect the two computers

The only thing I can think of with Dirt 3 is the fact that there is a requirement of the 127.0.0.1 line...that might be off a bit....your system might not be able to give the local address because of the lack in internet connection. Not sure that should matter though. What does your DIRT 3 file that you edited look like?

I have not touched the game file, just patched with simtool
For information: OS windows 7 Family premium SP1 , Dirt3 is original game CD ( second hand ) backup not working and i can not play online because the key was already assigned to a windows live account.
    the game is installed here-> C:\Program Files (x86)\Codemasters\DiRT 3 , and it is patched here-> C:\Users\Fox\Documents\My Games\DiRT3

You could also download the EuroTruck Simulator 2 Demo and try it with that if you prefer not to try with Live for Speed.

You have plenty of coins for a download package, but that is up to you.

Just a shot in the dark but it sounds like it has something to do with Dirt3 attempting to access the internet and a windows live account.

Yes I know but I prefer to save the coins :- )

I think the game communicates with internet but why block with simtool? When I plug the Internet cable simtool dialogue and everything works.

I download the demo LFS in progress 43%,I wait..

My thinking is that once you connect the internet Dirt3 or live is handshaking which is opening up the telemetry.

Dirt3 is hosted by steam now. I play it without motion currently. GFWL is gone. You should be able to set steam to offline (i do) . I will ask @bsft to see if he knows. I recall seeing Dirt3 running on his sim no problem.
I asked if simtools needs to be connected to net. He said no and showed me. Je informed me he ran cracked version of game where you set GFWL offline account but im told it never affected motion.

Just confirming that Dirt 3 and motion work fine for me with no internet connection and Steam running in offline mode.

You said you had Window 7, but you did not say if it is 32 or 64bit. The patch location for each is different. With Windows 32 bit the plugin is patched to the Dirt install folder while the Windows 64 bit would be patched here: C:\Users\Fox\Documents\My Games\DiRT3

If I recall the furor around the original Dirt 3 needing an online connection and Microsoft Live account there were tools developed to run it without the CD and with a made up profile. You may want to Google them.
