I would not panic just yet, Kickstarter backers are likely to get a pretty high priority but they are likely doing the email notification in batches. At least you can count on shipping being pretty fast in the US, historically that has been a problem for some international orders..

I had an early pre-order but had to wait nearly 3 months after shipping started for my DK2...it was way beyond a joke and made a mockery of pre-orders being delivered by when the orders were actually placed. Many Aussies were peeved by that. You really don't know how good you have it in the States.

Excellent, look forward to an unbiased appraisal of the improvements over DK2. I was a hour or so late in ordering, so no email for me yet:(.

I still don't have a tracking number for the Rift, but fingers crossed it will ship next week. I also have an early pre-order for the Vive so will be able to do a side by side comparison.

I have just one question for you with CV1, for when you're getting it, here it is: "how good, better than the DK2 is in Assetto Corsa?" (should it ever work with it)

I bought the DK2 just for it, and I'd buy CV1 just for it too

While AC is my go to driving game it has been idle for some time, as I no longer use the Rift with it.

AC has not updated to the latest Oculus runtime and the devs have not created VR car setting and other crucial in-game menus, which means it is useless for competition if using VR.

The honest truth is I am not prepared to run dual runtimes so AC will not get a run on the CV1 Rift until it is updated. Cross fingers and toes that will be real soon, as I do miss it in VR.

When you live in Alaska it must take a bear or moose chasing you to get you excited! Lol.

I’m glad that the CV1 is finally being shipped for all of you guys that have ordered and are waiting. Since I have been very satisfied for 5 years now using Nvidia’s 3d vision with my 67” Samsung DLP television and w/TrackIR I have been waiting to see how VR headsets pan out since I don’t feel I’m missing much if anything as of now! In fact, I feel I’m still better off using 3d vision since it supports practically every game title made since the turn of the century regardless of whether the game supports it or not. Also, when I need to look at something other than the game, all I have to do is look.

But one of my biggest concerns about VR headsets is the motion cancellation aspect and I haven’t heard much talk about it from you all lately. Since my 67” monitor doesn’t move with my rig, all I need to do is turn off vertical tracking on TrackIR so it doesn’t react to the heaving movements of my rig and I’m golden.

How do you guys getting VR headsets plan on dealing with this issue now or is it no longer an issue?

I never really had too much issue with needing motion cancellation. I think some people are affected more then others. It wasnt distracting or nauseating. I have spent hundreds of hour in VR though so that might have something to do with it.

To elaborate, I know VR will be move immersive than what I use since it fills your entire peripheral vision and for that reason I would buy one. My 3D setup is large and close up enough though that it fills all my normal vision when I’m focused in on driving unless I look right or left. Since I have a satisfactory solution for motion already with trackir, I would like to see definite solutions for motion with VR before I jump in if it is indeed a problem for many people.
