It must be really fun! I'm enjoying pCars after the 1.3 update too, but with CV1 it has to be a different game.
Let's wait for Dirt Rally to upgrade to 1.3 too. I bet you're waiting for it more than any games else

My CV1 is still MIA, paid for a week ago and nothing since, emailed Oculus Help 3 days ago asking for tracking details and so far no response.

I finally got Dirt Rally downloaded in between getting my other VR computer loaded up with games ready for my Vive, which has been in my home State since Friday but which I expect will be delivered Monday. I may get around to setting Dirt Rally up to do the motion profile, but will likely leave it at that until VR support is updated.

These days my DK2 is hooked up to my development machine, so I don't have a lot of incentive to mess with the sim at the moment, content related projects are soaking up my time. Still it would be nice if Oculus got its act together with Rift deliveries, they have said this month but given past and current experiences I am still a skeptic who will believe it when it lands in my hands.

That is double cause for celebration @Cantsitstill :cheers

My Rift is still MIA, payment was processed 9 days ago and Oculus Help is following up to try and find out why no shipping tracking has resulted.

You are in for a great time, I hope you do not have many other pressing obligations as there is plenty that is compelling in the first gen VR. There can also be some time wasting frustrations, but that goes with the territory for being an early adopter.

Thanks @noorbeast. I'm super stoked at what lies ahead and denial in order to fund the purchase should hopefully make the reward sweeter. Looks like your CV1 is taking the scenic route to your doorstep but rest assured that you'll probably be inhabiting virtual worlds before I get my act together and see you in the matrix.

One tip with the Vive, do the firmware updates and reboot prior to doing the room setup.

Also spend some time with the straps to get your eyes in the sweet spot but the weight support at the back of your head.

Thanks for the tips and positive vibes guys.hug: Your comments are duly noted. Once we go full steam ahead with the cleaner (tool not person) and put the house back in shape, I'll start the pc build. I haven't heard from the Alienware competition so my game title suggestion VRNOTALONE obviously didn't do the trick. :popcorn

It is hard not to be dismayed with Oculus over the pre-order debacle, which has played out in many different forms, not just the component shortage.

Aussie orders have been on hold for at least the last 2 weeks because Oculus failed to keep up with compliance requirements. The latest advice is that Oculus will now ship out of order to Canberra, Victoria, Melbourne and Sydney until compliance can be secured for the rest of Australia: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/com...ping_megathread_discuss_your_shipping/d2dpa88

Sadly I am in Tasmania and while I was charged 2 weeks ago, which is when my Rift should have shipped, it is still an indeterminate wait.

Undoubtedly a major disappointment @noorbeast, whilst I have frustrations of a different complexion. I still haven't had time to build my pc or remove the CV1 or Vive from their respective boxes due to pressing commitments including that of being a carer and also trying to support our son during his vital A level exams revision to get him into Uni to study a masters degree in chemistry. We'll get him to the start line even if we need a wheelbarrow to enable him to achieve his aspirations!

At this rate I may end up in the same boat, as I have pending project obligations.

I am undeterred as we keep our eyes on the prize. Anything worth doing is not achieved overnight. Maybe it's the thrill of the chase as the journey is more exciting than the inevitable destination.

@noorbeast - You will not like this story...'For this particular customer, Oculus estimated the Rift wouldn’t ship until sometime between May 23rd and June 2nd, around two months after the official launch date. Yep that is getting a lot of air time on Reddit, particularly as some have managed to buy the bundle in the US but get a refund on the PC, with 2-4 days free shipping.

The contract with 3rd party sellers would most likely have been made prior to the pre-orders, but compounds the wide range of pre-order issues.

Oculus has the resources but has failed in so many business related areas, from assuring the supply chain to customer service and communication.

Buying in the expertise to conduct the business is no different from buying in the expertise to create the product.

What has been evident and consistent across the DK1, Dk2 and now CV1 pre-orders is that Oculus has repeatedly stuffed it up, particularly in relation to international markets.

The irony is that Vive owners are actually getting to sample Oculus exclusive content long before a large potion of Rift customers, with the Revive project now starting to include Touch style emulation: https://github.com/LibreVR/Revive/releases/tag/0.4

Australian Rift orders are finally starting up again, after Oculus dropped the ball and failed to ensure compliance.

Mine landed in Australia yesterday and still has to make its way to Tasmania. It should have shipped on the 11th of April.

Oculus still has not got its act together with respect to email notifications, it seems communications is even harder to fix than international compliance requirements, which is sort of ironic for the worlds largest social media company...Rift pre-orders really have been an epic debacle.

I got up 3am to order both the Rift and Vive when orders opened.
The Vive is in transit, should get it by this Friday, exactly to plan as advised by HTC at order time.
    yet the Rift is MIA
I got the 1-3 week delay email a month ago, the online order form says delivery due now but haven't even been charged yet.

Meanwhile all my game purchases are heading towards Steam, so looks like Valve wins this round.

I expect there will be some catching up @JAD, after such a ridiculous delay. The ones going out at the moment seem to be like mine, charged on the 11th April, but then the hold lapsed.

Some got lucky around Sydney last week, as Oculus were shipping out of order to people who lived near the FedEx depot.

I am keeping my purchases to Steam, as for me it is pretty pointless buying things like Pcars again from Oculus Home, only to be restricted to only playing against others with a Rift on the Oculus servers. There are also a bunch of other restrictions, like not being able to add non Home games.

For me its starting to feel like Masters vs Bunnings.
I really tried to back Masters, Bunnings is great, but always like an underdog, and dislike too much power in one market leader.
But eventually Masters, slowly but surely, lost it for me even before the recent decision to quit.
With Oculus' troubles to deliver right now, the same felling is creeping in.

But I will stick with both for this generation. This new frontier in VR development is exciting to watch and experience.
So many great ideas popping up that I dont want to miss any of it. So Im keeping both.

The biggest factor for keeping the Rift is I'm working on a (early days) 6dof platform, so mounting the rift camera on the platform seems the way to go for motion sims.

Off to bed now, hoping to wake up to an Oculus shipping email. again.

For me the tech is exciting, it is the business practices that let it down, wrapped in way too much corporate spin for and enthusiasts niche market.
