    Hey Guys,

Been trawling the forums for information on my issue but cant seem to find anything on it, so was just hoping some I could get some help.

Output testing in the Game Engine is working great, all is functioning as expected. Game Manager has been patched with Project Cars, Shared memory has been enabled. Game manager and engine both say that I'm connected with Project Cars starts.

I am running SCN5's, have both axis set to 0. Using a standard RS485 serial converter for both SCN5's. Again, all is functioning like one would expect from Output testing on Axis 1 and 2.

I've downloaded and installed the original version of Project Cars plugin, so definitely not running version 2.

Tried the suggestion of doing the patch as "Administrator".

Short of doing a clean reinstall of Windows, I'm not too sure where to go.

Anyone out there ever have such a puzzling issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciate.

    Thanks guys.

What path did you patch to?

Hi Noorbeast, thanks for your quick response!

I have linked it to my "programfiles86\steam\commonapps\projectcars"

Game Manager accepted that path as the correct one when selecting it. However, game manager never said "Successfully Patched" like the tutorials indicate...

However, I did get the message saying, "Remember to turn on MMF" or something to that effect. From there it then went back to Game manager and gave me the "Remove Patch" button.

Hi Noorbeast, Thanks again for your quick response.

I did do a capture actually, and it reported back values. So it is communicating with the game effectively.

If that is so then you need to tweak your settings.

    Thanks Noorbeast,

I am running relatively conservative numbers, i.e. axis limiting to 65%. However, this was suggested by the tutorial for the sake of proceeding with caution due to the SCN5's susceptibility to pin failure. I'll up those settings to max now and see what it does.

Do you have any suggestions for settings that you can provide me that will definitely provide some form of motion?

If that still doesn't work you could try and verify integrity of the games files in steam ,,then run the game once and then repatch the plugin ,,,i know i had a similar issue will dirt rally and that worked for me,,,,i guess thats just another option for you if all else fails .

Hi Noorbeast, I've just shifted all the sliders to maximum and starting PCARS and I'm hearing very tiny microstutters coming from the SCN5's, but they're almost inaudible. I needed to put my hand on the actuators to feel the very minute vibration come from it.

So something is happening, albeit in a very un-useful fasion....

So I wonder why there is such limited data being transmitted to the actuator? Could it be my cheap RS485 adapters? Or does the output testing prove that the RS485 adapters work?

    Thanks Stevemontuno,

Can you kindly tell me what process you are referring to by verifying integrity?

Please post pictures of your Axis Allocation and Tuning Center settings.

If Output Testing works then you can assume the hardware works.

    Hi Noorbeast, All is good...

I dont know exactly what i did, but I'm pretty certain it was this (For anyone else out there suffering from a similar issue):

My game data input values (top section of the window) in the "Tuning Center" looked much smaller than the max and min values in the Game Limits field (Bottom section of Window).

So I ran another Capture and this time decided to save the new settings created by the capture. And voila, SCN5's started moving as they should.

I'm now busy mucking around with settings, but I really do appreciate your promptness and dedication to this forum. Your name appears everywhere and its a testament to your patience and willingness to help. Happy ANZAC to you.

    Speak again soon.

I am glad it is up and running, that is always a real buzz :thumbs

Yes saving the capture is the right way to do it. Generally you would then do some manual tweaking to refine the motion profile even further: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

Great tutorial, dont know why i never came across that one, but its exactly what I'm looking for.

Now time for the real fun to begin, tweaking and playing with settings!

    Thanks again Noorbeast!
