For me one of the real VR challenges is bad astigmatism in my right eye, but I won't wear glasses as I am afraid I will scratch a lens, and I hate contacts.

Hence a 3D printed prescription lens adapter sounds like a brilliant idea, you can download the file for it here : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1602460

The Vive has room and cutouts in the foam to accommodate glasses, so supports them pretty well. Even so I won't risk scratching a lens as you can't change them and it would make the HMD useless. For serious VR uses with eye issues custom lens adapeters seem a good idea.

This is a good idea, as I would hate to damage the Rift Lenses or my own glasses. Don't have a 3D printer, so will make a set out of 1.5mm carbon fibre sheet which I have a bit of (Very strong/light and easy to carve with a dremel). As I still like to look down through the nose space and out of the Rift when in use to setup things for some applications as not are all that VR friendly yet (I do own a small set of classes that will fit in the rift). I am initially going to try to build something that creates a thin barrier that will protect each lens. Later on I may embed some lenses in a frame. Will post more as it progresses. BTW my CV1 is in Alexandria Sydney Aus :).

Nice idea @SeatTime, I will look forward to seeing how it turns out.

I know you use the significant Rift nose gap to advantage but if you get sick of the immersion breaking light it lets in you can use the soft rubber nose flaps from a Vive, which fit the Rift and properly seal out the light. The Vive has the advantage of the pass through camera, so you just hit a button and can see the keyboard, screen and room around you.
