I am stumped on this one. I've been playing with it for 2 days now.

When testing my motion in game engine, everything works as expected. Once I pull out of the garage in project cars my left motor starts going nuts. It just jerks back and forth and eventually loses power. I have to pull the plug on the power supply to clear the error.

Any ideas on what might be going on here?

Ok. I now have a nice profile setup for pCars. I have a new problem now. I constantly get a motor driver error at the first sign of sway. Again, I can play with it all day long in game engine but once I get into the game, the motor driver error shows up.

The motor drive error could be a combination of a number of things, your JRK settings, a possible PSU issue, usb cable/hub problem and profile settings for SimTools.

For a start please post all your JRK and SimTool settings.

That's twice...seems to be a trend.. This should be a rule - if you are asking for help please explain to the community what you have built (point us to your build thread if you have one - although it would make even more sense to keep all your relevant posts in your build thread) and post your configuration settings. It would save everyone allot of time and improve your chances of getting a response - not everyone has the patience of Jobe like @noorbeast :) .

Technically I get one more. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a trend. :) I've updated my signature with a link to my build.

    - The jerky motor at startup problem is solved. Thank you @noorbeast for the link to setting up the pCars profile.
    - MDE problem is fixed, I had to play with the POTs.

    New Problems! This is fun!

    1. The left JRK will start getting a repeating disconnect until I pull the seat back into position. I grabbed a screenshot while that was happening. It's the one that spikes at 80%. I haven't figured out how to repeat this problem, right now it is random.

    2. Losing power on heavy breaking. This is a repeatable problem and I've attached a screen shot from right after the power loss.

Here are screen shots of my config.

In the JRK config your PID Period should be 20, which will stop you getting the constant 'PID period exceeded: Yes' error messages.

If the disconnects are in big hits try lowering the Main Level % to something like 97% in the Profile Editor of Game Manager.

PSUs and USB cables are other possible culprits.

Thanks @noorbeast. The Main Level % definitely helped. I've had my best lap around Spa so far with the only disconnect coming at the bus stop.

I can pretty consistently cause a disconnect on a hard breaking left and for the heck of it I tried a hard right in reverse and got a disconnect on that as well.

You may need to tone down your jrk pid and motor settings a little more.

Another thing that can help is to get some clip on Ferrite ring cores for all major cables, they are pretty cheap and will help eliminate interference issues.

Just ordered some new USB cables with ferrite shields to rule those out. I am using USB extenders right now so I am going to cut those out as well. I feel like it is coming down to heat. Right now I just have little heat sinks on the JRKs but I have some spare fans laying around. How does everyone power their fans, from the PSU or can you use the extra 5V pin on the JRKs themselves?

Side note, PID tuning becomes pretty straight forward once you take some time to read about it!

You definitely need fans on the JRKs, mine is wired to the PSU.

Well, I made 2 changes, added USB cables with ferrite cores and fans to the JRKs. I dont know which one fixed the problem, maybe both helped, but I am near flawless now. Thanks to everyone who chimed in with help and ideas!

Awesome. And bonus too, Simtools V2 is that much more stable in its connection. So unless your blatantly abusing the PID or motor settings this problem should be gone for good.
