I have wondered about the correct height of the steering wheel. When I read the FAQ it makes a lot of sense that it should cover the on screen dash and the on screen wheel should be disabled, but the only ways I can see this happening is by mounting the wheel so high that it resembles a forklift or and old truck? (or the screen way too low)

I can see that a lot of you have the steering wheel mounted pretty high, but doesn´t this feel wrong? Even in the Citröen Jumper I drive for work the top of the wheel is lover than my nipples :)

What have you done - and why?

Here is my wheel height, it is pretty much the same as in my Impreza:

Yes I understand, but if the are in the 60-70 cm to center wheel, they are not high enough to cover the screen...:)

I agree with this, but this will require a wheel height of +80 cm, if it has to cover the screen? And then we are back into the old-truck-simulator ;) We could use a 80" screen, but then the dashboard would be pretty much bigger than IRL?

    How is your setup?

In your case I wouldn't raise the wheel (if its position is correct you should then also raise seat, pedals, ...), but lower the screen. Easier and faster

i would suggest installing the wheel so that it is ergonomically correct. a racecar steering wheel (depending on car of course) is usually closer and higher than a passenger car so that the driver can utilize a more precise muscle set and gain more leverage. rarely do i see a racecar driver extend their arms more than half way to reach the wheel. and its usually less. passenger cars are built for comfort and a must fit both large and small sizes as well as getting the wheel as far from the driver for collisions while still being comfortable to drive. this results in the wheel being too far away. below are some photos of real race cockpits. adjust your wheel how you want it to feel then adjust the car on screen to fit most game have pov or fov adjustments for this. But in the end like most of the things here it comes down to what fools your mind the best. so experiment and see what you like.
