The easiest way is to grab the correct sized and length Mild Steel, Black Oxide Plating Rigid Couplings, which have the keyway and grub screws, and just weld the lever on the end.

Mine came from my local engineering firm and from memory I think they were 55mm long with a 20mm bore for the solid shaft motors, but would have to measure it to be certain.

interesting, I did look at a nice size piece of pipe at one stage, but was not sure how to fix it. I could just tap grub screws into the shaft through the pipe, and weld a lever on the end.
Id hate to think what engineering places around here would charge. I got really stuffed up over getting some small gears machined.

Ok so the motor I would use has a 19mm shaft. Would I buy a 19mm, or 20mm coupling?

    Edit: Nevermind. 20mm

Anyone know of a supplier of the rigid couplings in Australia? Amazon can get them here for $75 each - but it looks like it'll take 3 weeks at least.

    Thanks
