    anyone else had this problem?

I wipe down the plastic seat on my sim with bounce dryer sheets and it helps. I try touching metal before getting in which also helps but not for getting out.

I'm in North American on 110v. Has anyone tried grounding their rig directly to a power bar by removing the live and common prongs from the plug end and then screwing the green cable on the other end to the metal rig using a common computer power cable.

    Any other ideas or solutions?

    Cheers

In my neck of the woods we mostly only have issues with static electricity when it gets below freezing for some time and the air becomes dry due to its inability to retain moisture. I assume where you are it stays much colder than where I live. Are you running a humidifier? If not then that's my suggestion. Btw, an inexpensive humidifier is just to boil water in a container. You could also try using moisturizing lotion on your skin to retain its moisture to help keep static electricity from accumulating on your body.

I get hit with these too, Spraying my seat and the carpet around my rig with Static Guard helps big time, but does wear off. Im sure my Slick Sanded rubber shoes scuffing on the carpet aren't helping. But yes I also live in a cold climate and will say it seems to be more prevalent in the winter than summer.

I did try running a Cable from my Rod arms directly to the box on an outlet. Problem still occurred.

When i spoke to Pololu about this, they do have protection built in for this kinda stuff, BUT with a suggestion from the Tech, when you start to read up on Statically charged people and whats actually happening, there are some situations where the its the sheer amount of voltage you as a human being can generate, upwards of 25,000volts So its a tricky situation to deal with, I happen to be able to discharge myself on the Angle adjustment bolt for my wheel deck. Tho i have heard a USB disconnect sound maybe 1/100 times i do it....Its not the JRK that drops but something else USB related, that I honestly cant figure out, Wheel still works, SRW S1 still works, pedals still work...so im not really sure what's going on to be honest. I aint no electrical engineering guy....i just build stuff eh. :think

Yup same boat. The usb disconnect sounds worries me although it only every so often. However this last time it seemed everything worked but once I got into iracing my pedals and steering would shut down every 15 minutes for a 1/4 sec. I had blamed the jan iracing update but once pulling all usb, shutting down then replugging everything I seem ok.

I run some humidifiers but I can't humidify a 0% humidity environment in a 100 year old wooden structure that's nearly 5000sq ft. I e tried multiple different ways but it's a full time job refilling water. I do have a well in the basement so I may get ambitious at some point and try to rig up som sort of pond pump Arduino rig to move some moisture around
