    Hi

After working and trying a lot with SimTools, I begin to understand how it works.
My profil for Raceroom is not to bad for the First Start.
    BUT:
I can´t create a Profil for my 3rd Axis that uses the complete Movment of my Scn5 .
    I have a 100mm so to say 50mm in each way .
I tested it in the Output DoF Test. There i Have the complete movment.

I definded the Axis in the Game Engine : Yaw 100
In the Tuning Center Yaw 179,6734. (Captured Game Values MinMax)
In the Game Manager Editor i tried 0 to 50.
I only get a movment of 20mm to each side.
    What is the wrong value?

Lower the Axis Value or the Game output in the Tunig Center?
    Tried both without sucess.

    What do I wrong?

    Cheers
    Kai

    Hi Kai,
I would suggest that the value you have in Tuning Centre is too high. Reduce it in increments until you have more intense movement. The lower the value the more intense the movement. :)

are you using yaw with the washout filter?
Yaw is in degrease and therefore goes from ~-+180deg

BTW, some games has a Extra1 Traction Loss DOF - have you tried that yet?
    Just wondering is all

    hi

after some kind of christmas time out i´ll be back to get my tracktion loss working!"

    The Problem:
I can´t get the "yaw" force work so it fits to the behavior of the car.
This happend to Race07, RRRE and Assetto Corsa the same way.
    Example:
Assetto Corsa Silverstone, there is only a very small movement the whole track, except the corner bevor the finish straight and the corner bevor the Hangar straight. there the Axis moves fast the complete way to one side when you reach the Apex. The Axis stays there and only moves by pieces back to center.
This behavior is the same in RRRE Classic Track ( Free) the corner before the Tunnel.

THIS happens with a clean drive, NO drifting at all. Never get it working when I´m drifting!!!!!!!

I tried to set yaw in the Tunig Center form 60° to 180°. No Changing.
    In the Axis Assingment i tried everything from 30% t0 100% .
With 30% there is only a very small movement on 100% it kicks you out of the seat.
BUT only in the discribed corners.

I had a Plugin from Value1 for Dirt 3 for testing Purpose
THIS worked fine, Behavior of the car and Tracktion Loss Axis fit together.

    (Thanks RufusDufus for the hint!)

I tested this with Simcommander 3, there is everything as normal.

    Roll, Pitch etc are OK

    What do I wrong?
Is there anybody else with a Tracktion Loss Axis who can test it?

    Is it a Plugin Problem?

I spend a lot of hours to solve this, but no sucsess!

    Cheers
    Kai

Hi Kai, My understanding is that the "true traction loss" has not yet been released in any of the plugins (only the Dirt 3 test plugin) That is why Value1 was asking for testers to evaluate what was the best way to implement the traction loss for best motion.

You can use Yaw as a substitute but it is not a true traction loss... I believe for race games Yaw is the current orientation of the car (almost like a compass heading?) That is why you may feel different for different corners if you don't set it up with a suitable washout.

I am keen to get traction loss on more games too, so we need as many people as possible to help with testing and feedback results to @value1.

    Hi
    This would make sense!
I would like to help to get the real feeling!

I think we get an confirmation if were are right.

I have fun without tracktion loss also, but I can stop frustrating myself to get things working that are not finished.

mhh have to start my Simulator now to keep myself calm, waiting for my new Pinball :)

    Cheers
    Kai

    Sorry for frustrating you :(
Indeed - proper traction loss is only implemented in the mentioned Dirt3 test plugin.
We can take it up again and agree on the best method.

In iracing I have used "Y Velocity" for the loss of traction as the car slides sideways thru a corner

Old thread I know, was just wondering if anyone managed to get their traction loss working with the sim tools 1.3 version software? Today, I used the workaround to get the plugin active in Raceroom, the front two axis are fine, but there is zero traction loss movement with extra1 I have tried every value from 7 to 30 in the tuning centre.

Anyone know why this is happening? I will be changing over to sim tools 2.0, but in the meantime it would be nice to get it working correctly with the older software.

Any help is much appreciated, cheers, AussieStig

I don't believe Raceroom has traction loss included in the game plugin.
You can look in GameManger > Profile Editor (bottom of page) to see what outputs it supports.
The more page will tell you what Exta1 thru 3 is also.

Cheers mate, appreciate your answer, I will check it out. Would it be safe to assume that SImTools2.1 and the RR plugin does support traction loss?

    Cheers, AussieStig

    @AussieStig ,
It would be the 2.0 plugin that gets updated (if possible).
If you qualify for a free diy SimTools 2.0 key, you may as well request one buddy!
You sim will love you for it! :thumbs
