Frex has released a standalone USB pneumatic seat based simulation system, which is promoted as being compatible with SimTools: http://frex.xsrv.jp/gpshop/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=275

The Frex AirG-FORCE System with 2 sets of pneumatic bags is reported as being able to simulate Sway and Surge, via it's standalone USB pneumatic system, watch it in action here: https://www.facebook.com/FrexGP/videos/1085019251531142/

The cost of the Frex AirG-FORCE System is 105,840YEN, which is about $874.964 USD. One set includes 2x2 bags.

Ridiculously expensive for what it is. Basically double plus a little some compared to a GS4 seat. Cool none the less but imo they priced it a little too high.

$1600 USD for a 2DOF setup with sway and surge. I've spent almost $200 and have all the parts I need for a 2dof setup except a 4 point harness and seat cover, those last few parts plus an upgrade to 3dof wouldn't run me another $600 so Im really glad I found out about DIY rigs. sheeesh that price has to come down.

    a g seat is a 4 interface system . what is this system ? is this frex a 2 interface/motor equivalent?

it is smart though to have designed this. it can be diyed quite easily...

    Thanks @noorbeast for sharing this!

I have been playing with this idea (close loop without compressor) in 2014 but not implemented...
I was worried about too much low pass filtering in the effects and delay...

Here's an other working example (but not for sale)

    start from 3:00

Horrendous looking motion out of that rig. the TL table looks to move at 100mm an hour.

Is there any reason not build something like this from scratch? I feel like this could be incorporated into a racing seat better then motors like the GS-4 (assuming you don't want a Kirkey) The mechanism that drives the air could be mounted remotely so only the bags would be in the actual seat. Would there be a substantial difference in the performance?

Well don't expect any support for it.

My Frex Simwheel doesn't even work on Rfactor 2 because of old drivers.

@GR88 - That should work but there could be lag as the working fluid (air probably best) moves through the connecting tubes. If tubing was large diameter it would help minimize that effect. If you have similar bladders outside the seat and squeeze them in some motorized clamp of some sort or something along those lines, it could work I would think.

Nice device but for that price you can have the gametrix jet seat (some people of racedepartment are so excited about it) and a couple of 100 mm actuators for a"decent" 2DOF imho

I recently saw a video where a simulator had these pneumatic style airbags in the harness which would apply pressure simulating g-force on braking. Not a bad idea but not at that price ;)

Maybe someone could build a cheaper version compatible with Simtools?

Seeing how they need to make a profit in a nich market, I thought the approx $900 dollar price was not too bad for 6 bags and all the stuff to make it work - although I don't know how 'well' it works:think. Approx for My G - system with 2 x 350w motors (AUD $220) , 2 x ballscrews (AUD $170), One 2 x 60 Sabertooth ($200), 2 x pots ($50) + wiring/steel/bowden cables/controller etc ($100) - so $740 just in parts .- although mine has some serious power and is also able to drive a harness and other things as well.

@SeatTime, looking forward to your commercial version and hoping it soon comes to fruition. I think a lot of people are looking for a good commercialized g-seat, especially since there has been no word on the gs-5, if I’m not mistaken.

As you can see from the costs above, what I'm struggling with is building a reliable system that I would be happy to put my name against, at a cost including profit/warranty etc, which does not give people a heart attack :).

I`d rather buy your system SeatTime but I have to admit that with the Euro recovered and up, 838€ for the Frex one is not bad at all. I wish they had more videos and at least one review to have a better look of the product.
