    Hello everyone,

I'm coming to present my dynamic simulator project.

I copied a simulator 3 DOF "mobile seat" of the PCSHM forum, to add a 4th DOF, the YAW effect in "all mobile"

For design, the seat and the flying support will be in one piece, and this entire block will pivot around a pivot at the front and will be supported by 2 100mm diameter castors attached to the back.

The support is assembled. The 4 motors are placed in the corners of the "mobile seat" frame.

A 5th engine will be placed in the frame at the front to rotate the entire structure from right to left.
    IMG_20180203_164742.jpg

The wiring of the electronic boards and power supplies is done for the "mobile seat" part.

Some other pieces are already manufactured but can not be assembled because there are some missing.

I'll show them when it's done.

To get a glimpse of the final project, I put the seat and the steering wheel on the support still naked.

The flying support will be a little modified (I take my current static) and the seat will be raised when it will be attached to the 4 engines.

I still have a lot of work but it's on the right track ! ;)

    Thanks for sharing your project.

Can you please go into a bit more detail about the hardware. What are the motor specs, what boards and PSU are being used and if you are using and Arduino what code do you plan to use?

When you say 'Yaw Effect' do you mean yaw (pivots around a central point) or traction loss (pivots from the front near your feet). How do you plan implementing it?

    Hello,

    Yes No problem.

For the electrical equipment, there will be 5 DC motors 120W 40rpm 25nm (4 for the seat and 1 for the lace effect), an Arduino Genuino Micro, 3 Sabertooth 2x32, 3 power supplies 24V 480W adjustable and potentiometers 10k 360 °.

Regarding the Arduino code, it is written by Wanegain forum PCSHM (it seems to me that he shared his code on this forum) but for the details I do not know, I do not know the programming.

The lace effect will be in loss of traction. The pivot will be placed at the front of the simulator and on a fixed platform, and 100mm wheels will be placed at the back 10cm from the edge, they will roll on a tread fixed to the fixed plate.

The movement will be carried out by a crank-rod system whose engine will be fixed on the simulator under the steering wheel and the connecting rod on the fixed platform (the exact measurements are still to be defined, but for that I must finish all the rest before).
The simulator will move from 17cm to 20cm (it's still to be defined) right and left at the level of the wheels, so 10cm from the back.

I still have to finish painting a few pieces and I could move on and show you a little more ! ;)

I finished making and painting some pieces.

The 2 plates on the left are the supports of the pivot which will be at the front.
Next door are the potentiometer brackets and the motor covers.
In the middle, these are the 8 stops of springs. There will be 4 springs that will support the seat to relieve the engines.
In gray beside, it is the cranks of the engines. They gave me a hard time but I finally managed to manufacture as I wanted.
And the 4 plates on the right are the motors supports.

The fixed part of the seat is almost completely assembled !! :grin

Now I will work on the mobile part of the seat !!! ;)

The mobile support is not screwed yet but the parts are ready.

During the project study, I did not have enough information to predict everything so I had to adapt the 40mm aluminum profiles I had with square tubes of 45 * 45mm.
So I took a square tube of 45mm because the interior is 41mm, which allows to slide the aluminum profiles without modification.

The 2 profiles were 50cm, I cut them in 2 to have 4 pieces of 25cm, slide them in small pieces of tubes, fix them on the 4 sides to lengthen them.

I made 2 sleepers in tube.
I separated a 4cm part of the tube at each end to bend it to the square and fix it on the profiles. The profiles will be fixed on 4 points, 3 sides and at the end, I tapped the middle of the profiles.

    I advanced on my simulator.

I screwed the movable tray and I put it on its structure.

I also fixed and adjusted anti-twisting rods that replace the cardan.

    Thank you ! :D

I intend to do the 4th DOF in loss of traction thanks to a pivot fixed at the front of the simulator and 2 100mm castors fixed at the back.

The movement will be done thanks to a connecting rod-crank system.

I do not know yet whether the engine will be inside or outside the structure because I have not defined everything yet.

There will still be some welds to make some brackets for example, but especially on the flying support because it is done with angles.

I placed the cranks on the motor shafts and the engine connecting rods on the moving plate.
They are not yet connected to each other, for that I need to turn on the electronic cards to be able to put the cranks flat.

    IMG_20180327_160808.jpg

I also fixed the seat on the movable tray.

    A bit of progress ! :D

I cut the tray on which the simulator will roll.
I finished preparing the fixed and movable part of the pivot and presented the fixed part on the board ! ;)

Sorry but I have doubts if your system of anti-torque bars can really replace a cardan shaft. I recommend you try the pitching, leaning and vertical movements in your chair to check that the movement is smooth and not forcing at the anchor points.

I reassure you right away, the moving seat part of my project is a simulator that I copy.
It is a simulator that has been extensively studied and tested in many recovery, so no worries, it works very well ! ;)

It seems to be nothing, but the mere fact of putting it on the set gives the impression of having taken a big step in the construction ! :D

Next step, the construction of the caster supports ! ;)
