I am new here, I am starting my 2DOF simulator and downloaded simtools software
It shows that the simtools is a DEMO editon
So, what the different between DEMO and DIY licence?
Can I build and test my siulator with simtools DEMO or do I need to request a DIY licence first?

    Question:
With free license what simtool can i have? Diy license or professional?
In case, and i suppose diy license, for to buy the professional license is possible to pay the diffence (20dollars), or is necessary to pay the total amount (69 dollars)
With the professiona license the plugins are included or not?
I understand the simtool is only the motion software but dont have the plugin
My goal is to management the motion and the basshaker (vibe) on the rig
    >Thanks in advance

You can find answers to common questions like these in the FAQs

Eligible DIY members can qualify for a free copy of the DIY license: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/request-a-free-diy-simtools-2-0-license.262/

Upgrading from the DIY to Pro SimTools license can be done by logging into SimTools.us. There you will find an upgrade path for a DIY license to Pro for $29.99.

SimTools (motion software) and Xsimulator.net (community support and community created plugins) are two different things, see here re the relationship and revenue arrangements between the two: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-and-xsimulator-partnership-explained.275/

Access to plugins is either via forum activity coins or real money, it is not included in SimTools licensing, see here for details: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-and-how-to-download-plugins.2/

    Hello All.
    I'm new here..
I just purchased a good condition, second hand, late generation DOF REALITY M2 with the intention to modify the frame to be my version of an H2.. Same motors and drive electronics as an H2.
    My questions...
I will need to purchase a licence for simtools, and a separate licence for plugins - Correct ?
Are both licences one shot, for life licences ?
I'm mainly using squadrons, so will need the joystick plugin, and possibly rollercoaster Sims for my lady... Probably more in the future, once I have it all up and running.
Thanks for any help and advise.
    Fred

    @Fred Bear,
    Very cool!

SimTools v3 beta is out and includes the plugins right in the app.
With the same license you can also use SimTools v2, and with v2 you will need a plugin package, or you can also get them with coins from activity in the forums.
    Take care,
    yobuddy

    Hello again.
I'm hoping to get some guidance/ advise.
I downloaded simtools v2.6 in demo mode as I want to make sure it talks to my DOF M2 before I buy a licence.
I am at a loss with getting simtools to move the M2 in output test mode..
SMC3 ( comes with DOF REALITY TOOLS) works, and I can move the 2 motors with it for testing.
I set up the interface and axis assignments as per info in the DOF REALITY thread, but no movement at all.
    I'm using a dell optiplex 7020 (i5) with windows 10 pro.
    Am I missing something?
I should be able to use output testing in demo mode, right ?
I'm just doing some dell driver updates and have uninstalled simtools.
I'm intending to try with simtools v3 later..
Pc does not run games. I'm just using it for joystick (t flight hotas) input, once I have it talking to the M2.
(My joystick will have 2 separate usb outputs when I modify it, one for the pc, and one for the PS5 I'm using with VR).
    Any advice, great fully received.
    Fred.
