I had a similar issue with the 3.0 rev.1c which got corrected by the rev.2a.

The 3.0 rev.2a was reported as a working one on different setups (2017 red controller with dc servomotors (without Sabertooth) as well as 2014 green controller with ac motors / inverters)

A new firmware update is always a critical moment where all safety precautions has to be taken.
The first one is to reduce the online AND the offline speed to minimum like 3 or 5 percent so it gives you time to stop an eventual unexpected motion.

As the AMC1280USB can be interfaced with a large variety of different motor types, it would be helpful to insure if in fact, the new update brakes the retro-compatibility or if it is just a unproperly choosen setting.

It is up to you, if you are satisfied with the old firmware, or if you are afraid to experiment, just stay with it, if not, you can take part in the update (development) process in a constructive way. (detailed info of your hardware and controller settings, video example of the issue... etc.)

Remember to add a dummy repeated transmission, to keep alive the AMC connection... right now it transmits only when new data are received from simtools.

    @SeatTime, @Thanos,

    I understand its annoying.

heXpod is supposed to detect a very tiny data transmission changements to engage the kinematics.
If for some strange reason there no data coming in at all, it is normal the AMC will go offline.

In the AMC menu you can increase the delay up to approx. 2 min, after the controller will go off line.

Report if it solves your issue

If you want, you can try the 2.4 rev.3 from the heXpod package I sent above.

This could help to isolate if the issue comes from the new "FFFF" ID or from somewhere else

Thanks for the test. Are you using the sabertooth's as well? Are you on a 6dof?

It's clear now your platform is a 3dof with 3 motors.
    Thanks for the photos

If you want you could give another try to the 3.0 rev2.a.

After the update, I would go over all AMC menu and re-select all the settings one by one manually, according to your hardware.

It might be that the new structure of the firmware moves some old settings in the different places which results to wrong parameters for your hardware.

Take all safety precautions while updating and manipulating the settings.

Don't use the old ID with the 3.0 rev2a

Yep wrote down and checked all settings before startup as per normal and tried all the different revs. - picture of my setup below - driving a 6DOF and some G-systems. When I get some time will isolate the motors - easy as they are on a emergency control circuit and break out the test equipment to see what is going on. The kickstarter 1280 is happy to work properly on V2.4 and the older 1280 will only work up to 2.1c.

May I ask what do you call "your 2.2.5" and "your 2.3"

I uploaded the last v3.0_rev2a to my "green 2014" AMC equipped with pololu and mini servos.

    Works without problems

    Thank you for the info!

Sorry I can't help you misoswan.

For me "fw 3.0 rev.2a" is running on both controllers (old and new one) with two different motor types (mini servo and bldc servo) works just fine.

Just tested it with the new SimTools v.2.3

Hi @Thanos - With the release of Simtools 2.3 - I think I need get this sorted out... So it is wired like above and I ran the test as below with version 1.7 rev2a : Auto scan works, but when using a pot it is stuck at a low voltage - never changes. Works fine on Version 2.4 Rev 7_

Well... rolling back again to V2.4 Rev 7 so I can use the sim seems to have broken the 1280, - no voltages at all now to the Sabertooth - although the auto sweep works ? I will have to look to a new solution.

I've also tested and reported the "V2.4 Rev.7" as a not working one.
"3.0 Rev.2a" is an evolution of the last working "V2.4 Rev.3" with an addition of the new ID (FF FF) support.
