    Having the feeling of rear traction loss in banks on oval tracks like the back end of the car is kicking out. I've minimized the 3dof tracking loss motor to lower it quite a bit but don't want to lower it too much so when I actually do have traction loss I get that effect.

    Anyone else having this?

    What is your Tuning center Value on TL aka extra 1 ?

    It was default at 90 I believe and currently have tweaked it to 55. Better results for me so far.

    Errr i think your confused. :confused:

    There's No Default Axis or Tuning center value given.

    There's 2 thing's id like to know, What is your Extra 1 tuning center value, and what is your Extra 1 Axis Percentage.

    Also a picture of your rig might help too.

    Probably am confused, haha. As in "default" I meant what the iRacing preset has at.

    https://dofreality.com/ (my rig is the "H3" about half way down) Can get an actual picture of mine if needed.

    Not really seeing a "center value" or "axis percentage" but this is what I have in "Sim Tools"

    DOF1
    Axis1a = Roll 20%
    Axis2a = Roll 20 %
    Axis3a = Extra1 55%

    DOF2
    Axis1a = Pitch 20%
    Axis2a = Pitch 20 %

    DOF3
    Axis1a = Sway 15% (which I had assumed was the rear motor for traction loss)
    Axis2a = Sway 15% (" ")

    DOF4
    Axis1a = Surge 60%
    Axis2a = Surge 60 %

    I greatly appreciate the assistance!

    Ok You want to be using 90-100% of your Extra 1 Axis % @ 55% you are only using a little over half the travel which is very small and not ideal for a Linear force like TL.

    Sway is NOT Traction loss, Sway is the "G force" you feel in the corner. For example, Take a right hand corner, you roll to the left, Take a left hand corner and you roll to the Right.

    your Surge is on the higher side of thing's @ 60% so i would suggest dropping that and introducing "heave"

    Im shocked they dont have any heave built into the base profile.

    Next Tuning center. Right click on the Game engine icon and select the "tuning center"

    Screen shot that for me and we can continue, I have a feeling you have a real small Tuning center value on Extra 1 which is causing it to be all herky jerky and not what your after.

    TL needs to be a Smooth Linear force, If its slapping the TL Axis back and forth with very minimal amounts of Steering lock, you got it all wrong.

    Thanks for the reply!

    I reset all my settings to the "iRacing default presets" to begin from scratch since I was basically just adjusting off of trial and error.

    Attached are those settings.

    When you say "dropping Surge" do you mean dropping the number OR dropping as eliminating it and replacing with "heave"?

    Thanks

    No keep Surge and Heave***. Typical seat movers can do all 5 forces, Pitch, Roll, Heave, Sway and Surge.
    **heave is Extra 2 as plugin displays**

    Iracing uses Extra 1 for TL, Always check the plugin details when downloading for what forces they offer, Most offer the basics in Pitch, Roll, heave, Sway, Surge and Most modern titles support TL, But some Plugin's like Iracing use a specific Extra 1 or 2 for certain things. Put a Tuning center value of 10 or so, ( i cant recall what i used on Iraicng, can check later this evening) but you dont want the value too low, or as i said before, you'll get a wobbly not realistic motion..>For Assetto for example I am on 18...so would suggest going higher Vs Lower.

    using a "skid pad" is super handy with testing TL, you want to be able to add steering lock without the rear end stepping out...but obviously finding that break out point in the data is critical, ignoring it or trying random numbers isnt suggested imo.

    What do you mean " swap to Extra 2"? Not seeing anywhere to change to change it. I do see where to move it up from that .58 to 10.

    Sorry sorry, TL is Extra 1 exactly as you have it....... its the -1 heave thats Extra 2. :oops:

    Got the 2 mixed up. Disregard that part.

    The Tuning center shows under Extra 1 "Traction loss" and under Extra 2 its "heave"

    So in your Axis Assignments you need to remove heave and use Extra 2 on Axis 1a and 2a

    Iracing from my recollection, has very quality data in their Suspension/damper model and translates very well to motion.

    Heave start with 1, problem with going too low, is you will loose the slower "humps and bumps" for more raw oscillation.

    Beware, cars with Varying suspensions will GREATLY change how the heave is interpreted by the tuning center value. luckily the Profile Editor Sliders are now 2x as powerful, so that helps a Tonne.

    Ok, so now with the current settings I feel jerky coming out of bends.

    When tweaking settings should I be adjusting them in the Tuning Center or Game Engine. I guess I don't really understand what each one does compared to the other?

    Both play a role in refining a motion profile and you should initially do one axis at a time before enabling them all and refining further, see here for the steps involved: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

    Now after some more testing along with slowly having a better understanding of what setting is doing what effect I think jerky feeling is coming from the car wanting to ROLL from the Left bend and the SWAY going opposite direction of the roll to simulate Gforce. Its as if my motion rig is trying to jump back and forth simulating both but really with tilt Left for the roll and then jerk right for the gforce and back and forth and really kinda messing up what its intending to do.

    I'm thinking I should lower the SWAY to minimize this?

    Do ONE force at a time, For all we know you do have 2 forces Fighting each other.

    Disable the % on All the forces but One. Figure out what its doing and if its right or not, Having Sway or Roll Reversed by accident is more than possible and WILL reek havoc on a profile.

    Looking again at your Axis %, you for sure have something wonky going on with what channels are reversed and which aren't.

    you Cant have Both Sway axis Reversed for example, Thats just not how it works.

    If this is a DOFreality rig, and I suspect it may be, then the hardware is incorrectly set for SimTools at the factory, and the manufacturer has never bothered to corrected that, hence the odd DIR setting, see the posted profiles here: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...ject-cars-2-can-anyone-share-me-theirs.11273/

    Thought so, I will move this thread to the commercial thread section, as that is were support questions should be raised for commercial rigs.
