Take it you have not added the limit switch to the firmware yet @Thanos ?

So, that's why I am the testing Guru here lol. I solved it. The "issue" is the Sabertooth- Since I know, that the Sabertooth must be in Analog mode, I was assuming that something could be wrong with the DIP Switches. Et Voila, switch 4 must be off --> Independent instead of Mixed Mode.
    :cheers

Where did you get the information to set your dip switches? You may have forgot but this issue was discussed starting here. AMC1280USB Motion Simulator Controller

Thank you @BlazinH, but nobody pointed me to this, I was just looking at the manual, just try and error. Anyway, the documentation of the AMC1280USB is pretty sparse and not really consumer friendly from the view of a Sabertooth user ;)

Installed the PlugIn of AMC1280USB and started SimTools, what a mess - nothing works as it should. For today I give up.

    Hi everyone,
I would like to ask for help reproducing what I think is a bug.
It concerns an abnormal delay being introduced (up to 4s) while using the smoothing filtering.
To reproduce the issue, it is absolutely crucial that your windows doesn't run any other programs except Simtools.

After moving the dof test sliders, click quickly on the virtual axis tab. If the cursor moves there for a short while it's NOT normal. you got it!

Please proceed as in the video below:
    Thank you.

hmm, did you get any assistance from Thanos or you had to fiddle with the board, quasi tinkering in the manner of try and error? I don't hope so. I'm willing to continue with the testing only if @Thanos is giving advice and support. I was offline for a lengthy period of time also due my very spare time, hopefully I'm not wasting my time with this project. Until today every project I was taking on was going successfully to an end, especially because of a great support i.e. from @BlazinH or @RufusDufus. Maybe we can go the same route @Thanos ?

Your pots are 10 or 12 bit?
Is Thanos video tutorial (12 posts above) not explicit enough for you guys?

"Nothing works like it should" -- with such a statement, with best will, honestly, If I had to help someone to troubleshoot I wouldn't know where to start.

    Cheers

@Thanos: if you have a spare moment please let me know if there could be something different in SimTools when using a 2DOF instead of a 6DOF.

First of all, testing your motor control buttons both motors are moving smoothly and linearly (at the same time) within the full range of the potentiometer. :thumbs In SimTools I have problems to choose the right configuration of the interface. The standard configuration does not work, I tried a lot of combinations, but whatever I choose and whatever axis assignments I try, I get bizarre results. One time surge is sway, but surge does not work, or nothing works and under output testing one motor (only) goes to 80% feedback position and moves back and forth until I shut down the output testing.

    Hi all.
Quick question regarding heXpod software that I just discovered. It seems to be only working with AMC1280USB, that means my 6DOF made of 6 RC servos and arduino UNO won't be working with heXpod, did I get it correctly ?
And what is the cost of the heXpod software, I cannot seem to find this info anywhere.
    Thanks in advance,
  15. Pit

    @yobuddy and @Thanos
Sorry for being bugging, but can anyone explain me the following issue. First please have a look at my configuration:

AMC12080 all settings as suggested for using with Saberthooth, 2DOF selected, two motors/potentiometers connected on input 1 and 2. SimTool settings:
    upload_2018-10-25_22-17-7.png .
Axis Assignments are EMPTY (a) and (b)
    upload_2018-10-25_22-19-32.png
When I start Output testing one motor is moving (!!) on Axis 4a when choosing Axis Output. How is this possible?

I think my odysee of this board ends for now, at minimum just for a while until I have a lot of time back in my life...probably the issue could be not a big one, don't know. Eventually I will come back to this one day or other.

I believe you want 3.1 on the AMC to use it with v2.3 of Simtools.

Ok, tried old 2.4 firmware but not with old version of SimTools, should give it a try

...and that means what? That this does not match?
