    G'day Deane..
I know you have done this 56 times already so...
If you go to game engine..
    Axis assignments.
    Select default..
Enter the 50% Roll on DOF1
    Then SAVE...

    Then Output Testing....
    Then Turn On...
And then slide the slider left and right what does your rig do???

When i tried that yesterday with Markus B's instructions I got zip, nada, or simply SFA
That was the frustration after it all moved in SMC manually and sine modes etc
When I was playing around last night I had the levers connected and the rig bottomed out and hit the plastic container holding the elctrickery bits and pieces
so the motors could not go beyond bottom dead center and return on the up stroke.
So today I have moved all the elctrickery bits and pieces further back out of that container and I moved the rig's balance point back to it's original position
which should limit it's mechanical limit of movement.

Ok so I did not know what "SFA" ment.
I googled it and it says is slang for "super furry animal"
I am still trying to piece that together.

Your test would indicate the Arduino is not communicating with the 2x25.
I know... what a surprise. But at least that clarifies things in my mind...
If you go back to SM3 utilities does it do the sinewave exercise????

Well in Australia SFA does not mean "super furry animal"
It's more like Sweet Fark All , or any other adjective that you might prefer ;)

I was just reading a different thread and ran across someone having similar issues with smc3 utilities working okay but not from simtools. They said reducing 500000 baud output to 250000 solved it for them. You will have to change Serial.begin (500000); to 250000 in the sketch too to try it. If it still doesn't work try 125000 also. Good luck.

BlazinH so just change the sketch to those values even though the old 2X25 is baud rate set to 38400
Or that to do with Simtools comms as that is what appears to be happening.
I have rearranged some stuff and re positioned back to the original balance point so I know have no obstruction to full motion when I tested it in SMC in sine mode and motion mode and manual it all moves freely, so it has to be a comms problem with the Arduino as you know already.

It doesn't have anything to do with sabertooth settings buddy just simtools to arduino. So in simtools change 500000 to 250000 and also in arduino sketch as I stated above.

Well I just edited the sketch to 250000 to no effect, so I will try 12500 next, cross fingers :(

The sketch and simtools mate! And utilities won't work after this change. You can only use Simtools output.

I edited the sketch to 12500 and still no output, but I just read that you want it changed in Simtools too which I will try but when i look at the drop down menu in baud rate there is no 12500 option only 115200 ? So should I change the sketch to 115200 as well ?

Should I temp fate and change the sketch back to the original setting and try that or should I leave well enough alone. hug:hug:hug:hug:hug:hug:hug:

Great. But you didn't try with both at 250000 did you? That would be better if it works too but don't go back to what didnt (500000). Just keep in mind if you need to use utilities for something again the sketch must be set back to 500000.

Thanks for your perseverance with me as I know I am as thick as brick and take a while for things to sink in, that must a be a result of the stuff we did back in the 70's
Anyhow I have been adjusting the various outputs and I will try the sketch set back to 250000 and the original base of 500000 to see if there is any notable difference.

I am just happy that it lives and maybe adjust your tutorial to express the change to sim Tools Baude Rate .
Hopefully you learned some trick too that you can pass on other 2X25 Sabertooth V2 owners.

Don't set anything back to 500000. Only if you need to use smc3 utilities which you shouldn't unless something else goes wrong. Try simtools at 250000 and sketch at 250000 (instead of 115200). It's like tuning a radio, the frequencies have to match or you don't here the station. If it works use it if not go back to 115200. :nerd

    OK no worries.

I tried 250000 but it refused to move so I went back to 125000 and it moves.
So I now have to refine the settings in game.

Stupid question, but do you have to set every different game up the say way or do you create a new Game profile with the Default settings and refine it for the game in use ?

I just can' win a trick.
I finally got the rig moving and now my G920 wheel is not communicating with my computer but the pedals are which is a pain in the bum.
I did have to remove when I made some mods and it fell lightly from about a foot on to the tiled floor so maybe that has broken something or a wire has broken
so I will have a quick look and see if I can resolve this new problem or it will be going for a warranty claim.:mad::mad::mad:
But I'm still happy that I have motion which was my main goal.

    Hi @Deane,
I‘ve been following your thread like a thriller on TV, always hoping for a happy end. And now there it is, at least for the motion which surely was the main issue. The wheel thing should be doable, be it via warranty or a cheap second hand wheel.
    Congratulations to your moving rig!!!

@BlazinH: That was really great work and far ahead of my knowledge.

Now that I can relax again I am going to have a 12 year old scotch to both of you! Cheers!

Congrats on getting your rig moving and all the help @BlazinH gave to get you there.

You can set up a good Default profile and then use it as a base for each new profile, but it still pays to do one axis at a time, as per here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

Thanks to all of you that have helped me get across the line with my DIY Build on a budget with both advice and moral support.
I am a firm believer of forums and it just shows that it can foster community spirit and help younger people realize how valuable experience
and wisdom are in our lives in this world of "Buy it".
I am 62 years old and really have no trade as such but I have done a lot of things and have been self taught in just about everything I know and
that makes me a Jack of all trades and master at none.

So again thanks to all who have helped me in this endeavor.

Well it is nearly the 11th. hour of the 11th.day of the 11th. month which is the 100 year anniversary of the end of World War 1which we in Australia honor it as Remembrance Day and we pay our respects with a minutes silence in honor of the fallen.
