But, we may not be on the home run yet,
I found this status message below hasn't changed since yesterday morning for me.

Shipping label has been created. The status will be updated when shipment begins to travel.

I think I remember reading elsewhere that people had this status for many days. and the delivery date just keeps incrementing day by day.
Perhaps Fedex havent picked up the parcel yet or the sender/forwarder hasnt handed over the parcel yet.

I consider this a case of Pimax deliberately seeking to fudge the Kickstarter shipping data, given the units clearly did not ship prior to the promised end of January, plus pre-order units are already delivered and direct orders are operational. In other words Pimax stuffed up big time, yet again!

I suspect they have a cash flow problem and needed to bring forward some sales income.

Could be, in my view Pimax as a company now has zero credibility.

Just hope you don’t have to deal with their customer support section

I just fitted the DAS to mine and although comfort improved dramatically I still hate wearing it. You need a lizard head to have both screens in focus at the same time (for my IPD). I’m getting some eye strain because of it. It’s like my eye balls have to diverge outwards to get a sharp image on both screens at once. If the new cable ever shows up I think I’ll try and sell it and go back to Rift.

Tracking says delivery on the 6th for over a week.

Delivery hasn't and won't come until AT LEAST the 6th.

    Suburban Melbourne.

    Logic.

This is just nuts, I gather this is at the FedEx end rather than Pimax?

    Mine now says:
    • Tuesday , 05/03/2019
      16:31
      TAS RURAL DEPOT AU
      In transit
So it is now in my home State, despite still saying:
    Scheduled delivery:

I think we all know at this stage that it's just the luck of the draw. I've seen people with 6000+ backer number, in AUS, with their headset. How?

My Pimax turned up this morning, but no time to play at the moment as I am just headed out.

Yep got mine today too. Will need to set some time aside so that I can dig right into it.

Hey SeatTime, I thought you went MIA..... Haven't seen you in a while. Is your tensioner thread still up? I cannot find it anwhere! Not sure why. How is the progress coming along on the builds? I haven't had a payment request from you yet.

Don't have any tracking equipment, so was not a issue for me... Do you have 'sparkles' in dark areas after a few minutes of operation - I sent them a video, but no response and still have a open ticket .

Well that became a marathon 2+ hr Teamviewer session to finally get the Pimax recognised. Hats of to Doman.Chen from Pimax, who kept at it through several firmware updates, countless Lighthouse command prompt settings and several reboots.

I only played one Beat Saber song as a quick test, I need to change the foam to a thicker one to assist with better focus, I was too tired to mess with it past that.

I'm scared to plug mine in now... Just finished some races with the Rift. I'm either going back to that full time or never using it again after tonight, depending which way the sh*t flings off the fan.....

So far so good for me.
I had better luck installing it based on this advice
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Pimax/comments/awvrmy/5k_arrives_tomorrow_what_is_the_latest_secret/
but I had to do a few extra restarts to keep moving through the steps.
It probably helped that I was installing on a new pc build with fresh OS install.

So far, I havent noticed any QA problems that others have had.

Im enjoying the 5k+. For me, it is a better choice in the current market offerings.
But Im still need more time to get a feeling about how much better it is.
    Initially, I wasnt super impressed.
I certainly had expectations tempered a bit after reading many reviews, but I still thought the extra fov would easily outweigh the cons. Now Im not so sure about the design tradeoffs to get the extra fov.

Ive only played fps games at the moment in normal view.
And Im put off by the warping at the edges more than I thought I would.
I was feeling unsteady on my feet when looking around and moving in game. I sidestepped IRL a few times thinking I was about to tip over.
I question if there is something different about the 3D effect and depth perception?
I think the game world scale if off a bit.
Perhaps the edge warping is throwing my senses even when looking straight ahead.

On the second night of playing fps games, It did feel a bit better.
I need to spend more time fooling around with software settings and position of the HMD on my head.
It is getting a little better each time I use it.

The facial fit is not very good for me. The foam on the sides is not thick enough.

Now I know the difference between OLED and LCD screens.
It's very noticeable that the colours are washed out and blacks are poor. I knew this going in, but was still surprised by how much.
If I had a choice in future, I'd take better colour and blacks versus higher pixel density and less screen door.

The DAS from Pimax cant come soon enough.
I dont want to transplant my Vive DAS yet.
And Im not up to spending $175 for another right now. Given I have the $100 coupon from Pimax to go towards their version.

I need more time with it before settling on an opinion.
But having said all that, for me its still a good purchase and worth it over the original Vive.

I've bitten the bullet and purchased/fitted a Vive deluxe audio strap, so much better :).

I have to get the thicker face cushion if I can't find a way to pad it out myself. It's SO close to my face and destroys my nose with my IPD. Only using maximum IPD gives me any relief but even then your eyes are nearly touching the lenses. My eyelashes are. Cushion NEEDS to be thicker out of the box.

I'll come back with some more impressions later. Installation, build quality, defects (lack thereof) all went very smoothly. No issues with the headset itself, just yet anyway.

Very early feedback is you need a base station even for seated experience, the comfort is horrifying out of the box and I need to adjust settings and play with the various hz settings and SteamVR render quality to make sure everything is running smooth.

I'm using a thick "VR Cover" one which I had purchased quite a while ago for the CV1 but never used. Feels better on my face.
