I'm new to this, so thanks in advance for your patience. Main issue is even though game manager is connected and game engine output test worked to create motion, when I'm in game, nothing is happening. Not getting a signal during virtual output and no motion (but I DO seem to be getting data into tuning center)

    Early symptoms:
    1) game engine output did NOT work, but I ran sim tools utility to test sine wave. that worked smoothly. After that game engine output worked

    2) game manager would close out after game was started. Not sure what changed, but it now stays on (I've updated plugins, patched elite dangerous and ultra wings.

    3) unfortunately, now I'm at a point where it doesn't even recognize the com port that's connected. My situation is worse than my main issue now, I believe.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Before you dig yourself deeper into a hole can I suggest that you start with and confirm the basics before messing with ED and Ultrawings, both of which can be really tricky to setup and in the case of Ultrawings only works with a specific version of the game.

So for starters is your rig configured to move as SimTools expects and if so does it respond correctly in OutPut testing: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/which-way-to-set-simtool-axis-movements.230/

If so download the free LFS demo and run a race in it before patching LFS for motion. Then use LFS to ensure your rig is operating as expected. Once that is done you can then move on to other plugins, and in the case of ED and Ultrawings you need to read through the respective plugin threads, as both hove potential gotchas that can trip up a new person.

Please follow Noorbeast suggestion before you do anything, but what i can see from the tuning center is that you do have motion data from ED.
You could use my settings, its in the post zip file.

    https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...ts-profiles-and-tips.11273/page-4#post-170908

Remember to backup any settings you have made before you use mine. Also use the axis config and the min/max values.

If you done it right it should be something like this

    Good luck

Thanks for the help. I'll try that today. I was going to try LFS before, but had two thoughts that stopped me. I didn't know the patching path (do I just point it to the executable?) and I don't have a racing wheel (can I play the game with keyboard/mouse, or a game pad, or my joystick?)

OK. I downloaded/installed LFS. Drove through a single player race (although it didn't stop me after my 3rd lap; I had to just quit out during my 4th lap). Patched it to where it was installed Path = C:\LFS. Tried running with Sim Tools Game Engine & Game Manager running. Still no joy.

I ran output test (before running LFS) after clearing my com ports and reassigning interface to COM3 and it didn't work again. Ran sim tools utilities, changing the com port to COM3, and sine outputs worked great on all 3 motors. Ran output test again and it worked (I believe it moved when I slid 5 of the 6 sliders). Game manager shows connected, tuning center shows mins/maxes, and game engine says game is on when the game is running. However, I don't get any movement on the virtual axis screen on the output test tab still, and obviously no movement in my chair while driving in game. I'll attach a few screen shots.

We have JOY! As you originally suggested, I rechecked the axis assignments and (for LFS) mine had both checks on for roll and sway, and opposite checked boxes for pitch and surge. I changed it so it was opposite checks for roll and sway and both checked for pitch and surge.

Now onto ED. Thanks so much for your help so far!

Is this first link you gave me the link to the "elite dangerous plugin" thread that Noorbeast referred to? I'm having a heck of a time using the search tool and finding anything I'm looking for.

The issue I'm having now is that my game manager closes/crashes once ED starts to run (game manger shows it as "running" and then goes away). I don't have any virus protection as far as I know. Running windows 10 and all firewalls are off. Thoughts?

latest update. Installed non-XML edition plugin and game manager no longer crashes once ED is running. NO MOTION still, though. I'm reading through "OLD archive thread" (it's long, I'm on page 26 or something) and there's a lot of talk of xml files, an offsets.xml and getbaseadress64 file. If those are necessary still, can someone tell me how to get them, (specifically the getbaseaddress64 file? since I can't find it, I'm wondering if that's my issue) The getbaseadress64 file is NOT in my sim tools folder, although the Wow64ext.dll is. When I drop a plugin zip file into the updater, there are just three files, max/min.cfg, plugin.dll, and a banner.

    More details:
    1) I installed the xml edition plugin and game manager crashed
    2) I dropped the offsets.xml file into plugin updater, didn't seem to do anything (i.e. game manager still crashed)
    3) I installed non-xml edition plugin and game manager did NOT crash, but there was still no motion.

You should use the XML version of ED from wagnard

    https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/elite-dangerous-horizons-plugin-xml-edition.12955/

    The older ones don't work.

If you run into issues then ask Wagnard.

PS you only need these files on this download:

    https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/elite-dangerous-horizons-plugin-xml-edition.223/

Then use pluginupdater to install (Will overwrite old plugin) and the XML file is in the plugin folder for future editing, or axis editing like i discussed with him in the thread.
Should work out of the box after patching the game. (you need to unpatch and re-patch when updating plugins)

    Regards, Rob

@Wagnard , I used the pluginupdater and installed your xml version of elite dangerous (and unpatched and re-patched), but the game manager crashes every time I open ED. Do you have any idea why? Or thoughts on how I can diagnose my issue? Could you show me screen shots of your axis assignments for ED? (very new to motion platform and sim tools. Thanks for any help you can offer)

I voxelvrp, have you solve the problem?
Unfortunatly I have the same problem. I bought, 3 month ago, DOFreality P3 to fligth with FS9 on W10 and I'm not still able to do that. I'm try to install also FSX and today PREPAR3D. Only with PREPAR3D, when I launch the game have a response ( its shake but don't work) by the rig.

Have you created proper motion profiles, see the steps here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

There are no suitable flight presets, creating a profile as per the FAQ link provided is the way to go.

A flight profile is actually a bit more complicated to refine than a race profile, but the steps are similar, the main difference is the use of Filters, particularly Washout, Gain and Return, plus the Anti Roll Over functionality for flight profiles. I am pretty sure by default DOFreality has the Axis Type set to Generic Basic in Axis Assignments. You will need to change that to Generic Advanced to get access to the required Filters, but before you do take a snapshot of all your other existing profiles, as they will be reset and will need to be recreated.

As your advice I'll start to find rig configuration and, as it turns out, I find the first problem. When I lunch the G.M. + G.E. + Tuning Center + game, none inputs can be read by T.C..
It seems that the game isn't patched... Someones have any idea?

Can you please post a picture of your axis assignments.

What patch path did you use and did patching the game report it was successful?

Actually I've not the Axis assignments picture now, i'll post it tomorrow morning.
Regarding patching game, I don't have pattern because when I select FSX on Game Manager the patch window said " PATCH NOT REQUIRED". Btw if you don't click on patch button the Game manager doesn't recognize the game launch (light blue strip). No path is required and report patching is correct.

It says 'no path required' buddy.
You still need to patch / activate the plugin to use it.
    Take care,

Try temporarily disabling any firewall and antivirus then repatch the game.
