    Good morning everyone.

I have been an unregistered member reading these wonderful threads for almost a year. As a result, it motivated me two months ago to take the jump and build a platform. Currently built modified SFX-100 linear actuators. Working on the actual flight sim build / platform now.

Hello I am a new member. Im a huge simracer and have decided to start researching building my own simeacing hardware. The biggest thing I'm wanting to start is a motion rig. I'm still looking at ideas but will for sure start a new post with my diy motion rig plans and pics. Looking forward to talking to you all and taking in any ideas as possible.

    Good Evening Everyone,

Sean here, Currently Race in Time Attack, Had a short Factory Stint in endurance racing and growing up in saloons and Karts.

Decided a Racecar wasn't enough of a Financial burden and my Current Sim just wasn't cutting it so Taking the plunge since my new House has a whole empty bedroom, so why not.

Starting by planning a simple 2Dof that mounted behind the Seat, but after seeing the 3 motor triangle platforms decided that looks awesome and really doesn't take up a ton of space looking at committing to that.

Hello.New member from Japan here. Came to this Forum since I am planning to add a 2DOF motion to my Playseat rig.

Got kicked out from the low cost 2DOF thread unfortunately and without explanation so I found it to be a bit harsh welcome but eh it is what it is.

Hopefully the thread that has been created on my behalf will get some traction to guide me in my next challenge with simracing rig build.
    thanks in anticipation

    Hi there,

I'm Nuno from Portugal, and I mainly play one game now (Elite Dangerous), between the kids and work the time is scarce...

I'm a new member here and in term's of sim building I have 0 experience and I'm also just a curious hobbyist in electronics and in all the craftsmanship necessary.

As for the sim itself it should be a 6DOF as it will be a space sim, and I know it is a crazy ambitious project for a newbie with limited time.. but heck.. there are worse hobbies out there =P

Thanks for all the knowledge ;)

    Welcome @endese.

A 6DOF is an ambitious first motion project, so spend some time researching.

You will find plenty in the FAQs to get your started: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

    Including a 6DOF section: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/6dof.22/category

There is a glossary for all those acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Feel free to ask questions on your build thread, the members here give freely of both their time and expertise.

    Good luck with your project.

    Hi all,

I am engineer from Brazil currently living in Germany. I always loved racing simulators, however it's been a while since I've played.
More the racing simulators, I like building eletronic circuits as a hobby. Bringing this two together I decided to start my 6dof project. I know is a huge project to start, but I plan to take a lot of time to understand and build it.

I would like to thank the forum for the inspiration and the knowledge.

I already started the thread for my project:

Please come by and let me know your opinion.

Hello my name is Neill. I am looking to start my first project of a FFB yoke with Arduino for Xplane11.
I am a metal fabricator and welder so am able to produce most mechanical components for my projects but have never messed around with electronics or programming, so here I am ready to jump in the deep end!

    Evening All,

Newbie here, although been lurking and reading for a few years on and off. After my experiences with a static spitfire cockpit sim, I'm looking to build my next (Harrier) 'pit as motion-capable from the ground up. After drooling over the hexapod stuff, I managed to convince myself to start smaller - thinking a (relatively) straight-forward 2-dof, foot-mount wiper-motor & jrk, flight pit for use with VR (rift) and DCS. Can solder, used to be able to code many years ago (but would rather avoid it), can't weld (3rd floor flat too), and am thinking that aluminium extrusion (3030?) is the way to go for the framework...

Look forward to learning more and getting stuck in. :)
