I tried to set up the motion compensation with Pimax. Did not work. This is what I wrote on Pimax forum.

First, many thanks to Pimax to try to add motion compensation to the headset.
But setting the motion compensation to a controller locks the world to that controller (and its good) but we need to be able to reset the seat position (which we can't, it does nothing).
Resetting the seat position should move the world to the right position for the headset and use that change of matrices to calculate the offset of the controller.
The controller is fixed on the rig, if we can't adjust its offset to the world (or being calculated during a seat reset), we can't use it.
    So sad.

Tested Pimax motion compensation again, this time with assetto corsa. It worked, partially.

I was able to set the motion compensation tracker (controller) and the reset position works for this game. So far, so good.
The only problem with it for assetto is that it has to be in the right rotation. If the tracker is rotated, the game will be side way and stay that way even with a seat position reset.
So, motion compensation is working partially depending of the game. I suspect that Dirt Rally does not work because of revive. But, that’s Pimax expertise now to find out the reason. I’m just experimenting and providing the results.

Bizarre problem trying this out. I've had the tracker for a while but never used it because motion compensation wasn't in place. Weird problem now, I connect the tracker and everything flips 90 degrees as though I'm lying on my side???? I can't figure out how to reset my position, I don't have vive controllers so I can't navigate in SteamVR easily, my gamepad only works for some controls. Why can't I use my keyboard and mouse ffs...

Yes, I am using my second controller to go to the setting and "reset the seat position". I don't know how you can do without.

So, it looks like the 8KX will finally be shopping out to backers (I am one) starting 18 Dec 19. Base stations in three to four weeks (Made by Valve). Hand tracking module, New head strap and audio solution shipping in Dec 19. Eye tracking also early next year. Unfortunately there are some issues with their controllers which will not be ready until march next year. There are though options being offered in regard to Valve controllers....Looks interesting- and exciting, must admit, did not think it was ever going to happen.

I'm participating to the Pimax exchange for your old headset, and I will exchange my Vive for a Pimax. I still nead to send my old headset when I'll get back home. Since I have the 8K, I will probably go for the 5K plus. It`s 2 native résolution, one by eye, if I am not mistaking. It should be quite fast and nice. I hope my budget will permit it. We will see.

I think one of the most important announcements to come out of the stream was Pimaxs decision to go open source, this could be a game changer for developing motion cancellation and other things. Really exciting times:D.

Even that they already included a motion tracking system in their latest Pitool that was working not so bad, but I could not test it much since I was rebulding my rig.
After listening to the channel, there is a lot I have to reconsider. Like, maybe getting a 8KX. My budget may have some hard times in the few next months.

I would hope Pimax would cover its very patient Kickstarter backers first, but based on past behavior I would not count on it.

    I'm quite disappointed.
I have a rebate for my the exchange of my Vive, and I cannot use is as a rebate for the update.
The rebate they offer is the things you let go from the initial kickstarter.
    I'm not impressed.
