So as you will see there is not much room in my office with the simulator ;) so It was a little tricky to get my phone set up. Anyway this is the best I can do for now, 2 laps around Bathurst with a Supercar. Got to say when you are in it, it feels like you are moving a lot more that the video shows. Still working on the tuning but I like how you can feel when the rear tires are scrubbing on the road. Makes driving on the edge a lot easier.

Looks good. I have to take the time in the near future to get mine up and running. Just a little to busy at work.

Thanks for posting. I would really like to see one in person if someone has one near Chicago.

What do you think of the build quality of the system? It looks nice from the video. How realistic do you think it is compared to driving a real car? I’m hoping to find something that gives me good practice for when I can’t make it to the track and curious if you think this system could be a legitimate trainer.

I’m putting it together now just not that good with a computer and sims. The quality of the machine is seriously good.

Hello, fellow Canuck! I placed an order for one a few weeks ago. Looking forward to its arrival. How was your experience with the shipping, set-up documents and support thus far?

    p.s. I'm in Ontario

The build quality is excellent and the rig is very sturdy. Although I am still tuning it I find the movement very realistic, you can "Feel" what the car is doing both over and understeer. I use to race Go-Carts so I am very sensitive to vehicle movement and dynamics. It give you another sense to race with :):):)

@Red_shift glad to see that your rig is running! I received mine in 2021 and have had nothing but issues with the power/control module. Kept blowing components. Have you experienced any of these problems?

My system had one of the first power modules. A long time back and there was an issue with the motor control driver shutting down the controller but after that was fixed with some software and additional hardware, I have not had any issue with blowing components.

I do have the system on a UPS as I don't want it crashing down during a power failure, this also does power filtering so I am not sure if that helps (I have 110v power). I have broken a few belts, but once you know how to replace them it's a relatively easy to fix.

I have one of these and have had a really awful time with the owner / vendor who takes many months to respond to the simplest questions, and gave me no documentation, build instructions, or software. It feels like I spent $15k+ on a giant paperweight. Any assistance members could give in terms of getting in touch with the creator and/or working Mover/Simtools configuration would be very helpful.

Here's how far I've gotten so far. I figure, at this point, I need to power it up and ensure nothing is broken before I actually mount a seat and monitors.

That’s fair! And I’m not here to talk trash - it’s a beautifully designed and built unit.

I just can’t seem to figure out which commands actually move the actuators properly. I can get it to start and park but the actuators don’t all move at the same speed, and I can’t seem to get any specific output written to it.

Obviously @Red_shift would be the most recently active member to advise, but he has not been around since January, hopefully that changes in the near future, or another owner can jump in with advice, as the insecta creator @RobsonSwiss has not been active since late 2019.

If I recall from the early development posts, the intended approach was for the insecta to use custom ordered BLDC motors and controllers, to work with the @Thanos controller, is that the case or not, and can you please detail the hardware so members know what is being used.

Thanks. I suppose there's no way to know for sure what's in it unless I take it apart completely. I may do so this week just to clear up any trouble in the future.
