    Hi,

I started wanting to convert my static racing simulator to dynamic/motion simulator 11 years ago. I finally started this convertion 2 weeks ago.;)

    Actual setup:
    - Thrustmaster Wheel T300RS, T3PA Pro pedals, TH8A gear box
    - Integrated 5.1 sound + Basspumps (similar to Buttkicker)
    -Wind turbine linked to acceleration
-Curved projection screen + video projector

    Here's my static simulator:

    Curved screen in action:

Using VR, it's allready very cool :):

    Other Creations:
For the curious people arround here, here are some of the creations I made:

    -AIM Controller EVO for PS4:

    -ImmerSuit:

-(for fun) 13 years ago I created this bulky VR headset, which worked with Live For Speed :

    3EEDC2A7-7B43-4B60-98E9-FF5B4A4270AE.jpeg

    Motion hardware:

    - 4 DC motors (400W) with reduction gears
    - 2 Sabertooth 2x32
    - 2 24V 40A 1000W power supplies
    - Arduino Micro

Most of the motion stuff wiring is now done. I will soon power it up to do the first settings and tests (without the top platform). The 4th motor at the back is for the traction loss effect.

I need to find out a way to have a rigid and strong top platform (my actual static simulator is mounted on a 15mm wood plank, and it's too flexible...):

-Would you recommend extruded aluminium frame ? or steel ?

Mobile chassis is now done. I’m a noob in soldering, so I hope it’s gonna be solid enough ;), it should (40mm steel tubes).

I’ve just positionned my original cockpit on the dynamic chassis to have a global look at it. Everything on the cockpit will be lowered (seat, wheel, gearbox, and probably the pedals by making a case under le metal chassis.

Looks great. I can see that the Wheel is mounted on an adjustable rig. Did you buy the rig or made it yourself?

    Hi, Thanx !

I bought the steel mount that holds the wheel and seat. The rest is homemade.
I will take off this steel mount because it’s heavy as hell, and it’s in the way of the pedals.
I will probably use extruded aluminum with a different design... ;)

Thanks mate. Users of my car racing motion sim ranges from 4 to 85 year old!
Since it's not practically possible to move the seat due to it being solidly fixed to the uni joint and the actuator rods.
Instead, I wanted to make the pedal and the wheel to be able to move in both horizontal and vertical directions.
I tried the scissor lift arrangement by first making one with timber to get the geometry correct (ScissorLift.jpg). It didn't work out well.
So, I am now trying with the mild steel 25 mm SHS (Square Hollow Section) and 20 mm SHS. The 20 mm SHS glides easily with in the 25 mm SHS. One pair for the vertical and another for the horizontal directions. They can be moved independently and held in place by a bolt and wing nut inserted via a series of holes spaced every 50 mm.

    Progression : 1st dynamic test ;)

cockpit design has been made, and extruded aluminum ordered.

Seat and « furniture » have been lowered to meet dynamic requirements:

Next steps: re wiring of audio transducers, 5.1 sound system, wheel, pedals etc... and aluminum stand mounting. I have a 32inch curved screen also.

    Hi! Awesome rig!
Pls tell me nominal RPM of motors and gearboxes' ratio.

For my opinion, steel profile most fine for you static base. Light and strong. Your weldering skills would be anough for that/)

Mate, I noticed that in your recent picture, there is a spring (looks like a car suspension coil spring) underneath the seat platform. What's the purpose of this spring?

Hi, there will be 3 of these springs. They help the motors a bit, because they support a part of the weight.

    Hi. Great rig.

What is your maximum driver weight with this setup?

Well I don’t know. I weight 65kg and I had to drill the motor cranks at 5.5cm instead of 7cm because my mobile cockpit is heavy. Now it’s perfect, no motor stall anymore.

Here’s a first test with Live For Speed.
(Need to adjust Tuning center and forces, but it works).

This looks like an awesome build mate...can I ask where you bought the motors from? I'm having a hard time sourcing them retail at the moment
