That's kind of what I meant, just worded badly.

Like a normal car pedal it gets gradually harder when you press on it. When you adjust the screw the travel of the brake is less as this is a way of adding preload meaning that it's harder to press initially. It removes the the first part of the brake feeling when it's softer.

This is what I believe it means.

How's the new accelerator pedal holding up?

Following this project with great interest.
When will the improvements stop, so that I can start printing? :)
    Merci!

Well...it's hard to answer to that question ^^
Each time I release a new version, I find other improvements...
I would like to add a M8 thread into the master cylinder support. That way we could use the M8 screws that are provided with the master cylinder... But it's many hours of printing, and will perhaps fail... If anyone wants to try, I can send him the file, so he can tests.

Thanks for the upload of the latest design! I wish I could understand French, looks like a good video.

Time to buy myself a 3d printer!

    I should have add a changelog :
    Changelog v5.4 :
    - 12mm metal axles replaced by plastic ones
    - the lever is now in one piece, saving two screws, and strengthening the lever.
    - The preload and the end stops are now sliding, and kept in position by a spring printed in the base
    - Add an anti-tear system for the potentiometer cable
    - KP001 are now plugged into the base.

As a result of the epidemic, I got more time to work on this pedal.
I am working on both of them :
    BRAKE :
    1) I am adding a load cell to the brake pedal.
+ less expensive hydraulic circuit and sensor
    + less space needed

    - need an amplifier circuit. Nothing complicated, but some people would fin easier to use the hydraulic pressure sensor.
    - the load cell acts like a spring in the brake calipper, it changes the feel a bit

    2) I will try to add a plastic preload screw
    3) I will try to add a plastic spring on the master cylinder rod

    ACCELERATOR :
the metal spring is being replaced by a plastic one. It's cheaper, we can make it the size we want (the accelerator pedal will be less wide) and the strength we want.

Hi, I'm slightly confused by the change of direction, going from a pressure sensor to a load cell. Thought you had tried lots of different load cells but didn't think they were as good as yours with a pressure sensor, even said that they were better than the simtag pedals?

Not that much. Load cell are still hard to use, they need an amplifier circuit. Hydraulic sensors are plug and play, but because of the threads differences between the MC, the T 3 ways, the pressure sensors, we need a lot of adapters, it makes a big circuit, and it's expensive.
About the Simtag, my opinion is the same : you can't have a real feeling if you don't have a real brake calliper (that I still use).
Now I just want to give the opportunity to fine tune the feel. It was the point of the preload, that removes the soft part. Bu we could now make that soft part "not that soft" by adding a spring.

Between load cell and hydraulic pressure sensor, there is around 25€... then people can choice whatever they want.

Would it be possible to add the pressure sensor directly to the caliper/MC? I've got a motorbike and have recently changed my brake lines which meant I had to use a pressure sensor to activate the brake light, while it was just basically an on/off switch I believe it could be used with the sensor we need? Instead of using a banjo bolt with connecting the brake lines to the caliper/MC the pressure sensor goes there.

If you plug the sensor directly to the mc, you can't mount the brake line to go to the calliper...

Well, this kind of construction would be great ! It could spare one hose, and the T 3-ways !
Otherwise it's not a sensor, and it's not the good thread...
    MC is AN3
    Brake calipper is M10x1.25

I spent many months looking for adapters. I found nothing more convenient that what I already have. If you find better, I'm interested :)
