    Hi guys,

first post, glad to join the community and off to the races.

I recently ordered a P3 with several addons via Gilbert at SRS (great guy!) and I’m very much looking forward to it.

The only thing on my rig I‘m still undecided on is the seat. Would you be able to give me some advice on that?

Budget wise I‘m not looking to spend more than €500-€600, anything more affordable is a bonus. I need it to be light to not overly affect the P3 motors, comfortable for long endurance races but ideally a bucket shape to give me enough side support. I would also appreciate the possibility of a harness as I‘ve been told this is a good idea with a P3. I’m not keen on a halo shaped head rest. To top it off, having the possibility for user adjustment via sliders would be extremely appreciated, those would ideally not rattle.

Of course it should all be readily compatible with the P3 mounting parameters.

Would anything worthwhile come to mind?

If you can find a nice actual car seat (something like a bucket style seat from an Audi S4 is nice - pic attached of an example used seat you can pickup for under $500) and of course you don't need any of the electronics so you can gut all that stuff to reduce the weight.

As cool as an OMP actual racing bucket seat with wrap around head impact protection? No/maybe.
Comfortable as hell and still plenty supportive for the vast majority of 'regular' motion platforms.
But if it's additional weight concerns, then a fiberglass racing seat will be better - just get something that's wider than you think your butt/hips are. Nothing worse than something that feels snug like an actual race car for long stint comfort. The majority of racing seats are quite a lot narrower than you think, so think about that and do your due diligence.

I think the DOF reality is designed for base mounting going by the pictures

Have a Bimarco seat and for me it was the best choice but I bought the P3 mainly for car sims. As it's similar to seats you'll find in rally it might not be super comfy, but what matters much more for me is that it keeps you tight and gives you lot of feedback from the motion platform. However after a few hours your back can hurt ;).

I believe with any setup you will get hurt if you use these things for the first time and especially -for the several hours :grin

I recently too acquired a P3 with a lot of accessories and still refining it, it takes quite some tome to do it, so you are in my similar situation as I was before.
That said, there are principally 2 choices:

    - bucket seat
    - non bucket seat

BigAustin showed you a bucket seat meanwhile Globespy a real car seat with electric parts (which could be also a negative point because too heavy, DOF has weight limits), personally I preferred a middle choice, that because I tried every kind of seat and my final result is that:

    - a bucket seat envelop you better, but it is more harder to get out, especially if you have several accessories on the DOF (I can "jump" into my DOF in and out only from left side where there is only the Flying Throttle, on right one there is the Flying Stick and the Handbrake), It's quite strange that not so many people describe this fact

Here it is my seat in pictures, before buying it and after on DOF

If you wish to know the cost is about 230€, it's in faux leather with red stitching, rails included and it fits perfectly on DOF (even if it was quite hard to get in the last screw), weight 15kg.
    I hope it helps

H3 can handle 330 lbs and P3 440 lbs. (150-200 Kg) So basically that should be enough even for the 'real seat'.

Exactly, it SHOULD be, you are not completely sure, with the P3 that doubt does not exist
