    Hello everyone,

I am a long time lurker, simrace lover (Mainly Dirt Rally 2.0, Assetto Corsa these days), who finally decided to start a DIY, after using an old G25 for almost 10 years. I was inspired by many projects, but I found the idea of tomthomas21 interesting and went with the Toyota DC engine and an Arduino Leonardo. Also using EbolzMagy 's software.

In real life I am a safe driving trainer, I have co-driven in rallies and drove quite a few cars on road and track. I am also building a RWD rally car.

Hope to make the diy work and add other things like led's, handbrake, shifter etc.

    Hello all!!
    I'm Rolando, from Chile.
Reading a Facebook group someone recommends joining this community.
I have read a bit and impressed with how much knowledge can be found here, is awesome.

The first rig I build was back in 2008, with a G25 an old Toyota seat that I found in a dump yard. I build it with metal. Actually, I learn how to solder building that rig. I have built 5 more rigs, the last one made of wood (just wanted to make a prototype and make test with it before building something in metal again -you really can't know if something is comfortable to you until you try it-).

About me, I'm 42 I don't feel or think that I have too many DIY skills but I try, I don't have advanced knowledge about electronics or computers. I have build myself my daily driver (a 2003 golf GTI with about 600 whp, yes is useless.. didn't know what I was doing when I start building it.. but seems that I have more luck with big stuff than small stuff).

I have some experience at different tracks here and in some close countries, I usually drive a Rotax DD2 (not mine). I have drive some great cars at

I would like, in the next years (2), to build a rig with motion (I think I have taken the vibrating motors and the transducers t the limit), something that makes me feel the g forces of the turns, bumps, braking, etc

I hope that in the future I could help and add knowledge to this community!

I also like to ride bikes (downhill), run (when my kees let me do it), swim... and once in a while.. drive my car like I stole it...

    Cheers to all!!!

    Welcome @Rolo F.

Many of us started where you are now, but thankfully the community members here give freely of their time and expertise.

You will find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs, in particular check out the SimTools, fundamentals of motion and the design sections, there is also a section for transducers: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

You can go through existing member projects for specific ideas or inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Or search for specific types of projects using the Google Custom Search function on the Recent page: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/find-new/posts?recent=1

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here, ask any questions you have there and detail your project progress: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

    Hello everyone

My name is Raúl and I live in Murcia, Spain, I am a computer tecnician and I have always liked “home” electronics. Since I met Arduino I have done some mini projects to learn how to use it. Almost all the projects have been to annoy my cats, hahaha

A few days ago I was organizing the storage room and I found an old Logitech steering wheel and pedals with feedbak for ps and pc. Thinking that I could do with them I found this magnificent forum.

Since I saw the forum I have not stopped searching and reading about the construction of an economic 2DOF to learn and hopefully get to a 6DOF.

Also and thanks to the TV series "forged by fire" I have learned to work with metals, welding, cutting, hammering, I already make my own knives!

As I have said before, I already had several components to use and experience with computers.

All this has made me decide to start the project and I hope to start documenting it and uploading it to the forum in order to help people like me and also receive some help ;-)

I send you a very big greeting and a lot of hope and strength in the face of COVID.

Salutations! After many weeks of lurking and reading I've designed my own 2 dof racing sim. This site has so much information that at times it's overwhelming!

I look forward to feedback on my design and learning... so... much... to... learn.

Checout the FAQs, in particular check out the SimTools, fundamentals of motion and the design sections, plus the Arduino section for the required code: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

Have a play with SimCalc, it will help you understand the trade offs in design Vs physics, and what motors will be needed to drive your design at a desired performance level: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

    hello everybody !

I'm Chris from switzerland. I m glad to be here. Most of the time i drive sport and collection cars but i also enjoy simulation. So thats why i m looking for a complete DOF3 system (or more) for driving (not to built) during the winter and more....so what a lot of information we can find here : it s amazing
So if someone have a equipement to sell even in second hand, send me a message.

Thanks and have a good day

    Hi everyone!
    I'm Daniel from Hungary.
I plan to write my BSc thesis work from racing simulators, as a mechatronic engineer.
I don't really know where to start, but I find this site extremely helpful.
    Cheers!

    Welcome @Daniel Papp.

A thesis is a different sort of take for the DIY motion sim community and it will be interesting to follow your progress.

You will find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs, in particular check out the SimTools, fundamentals of motion and the design sections: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

You will find members here have considered and discussed all traditional approaches to motion simulation, and some pretty novel and innovative ideas as well.

You can go through existing member projects for specific ideas or inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Or search for specific types of projects and approaches using the Google Custom Search function on the Recent page: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/find-new/posts?recent=1

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

You will likely need a place to clarify ideas and approaches so when you are ready please start a thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your thesis.

    Hi everyone!
I'm Chris and I am from Australia. I am a mechanical engineer and have been into racing games for a long time. I initially started to design a rigid simulator but after I found this site I couldn't help but redesign it to be a 2 DOF rig.
My electrical knowledge is low, this made me excited to learn it but also put all my mechanical knowledge to the test. I have been a member for quite a few months, reading multiple threads and learning everything i can from this helpful community. I am almost complete with my simulator and i have taken photos and documented along the way to help anyone that stumbles across my thread. I am very excited to share it all!

    Hi,
    I'm from Poland.
I'm a new member of xsimulator.
I like electronics and cars: WRC, F1.
I would like to say hello to everyone and express my appreciation for the enormous amount of knowledge provided in this forum.
For several weeks I have been making a project based on the Racing Mat idea.
I already have one question, but I will not write it here (I will create a new post).
