Currently I have made a 2 dof platform, but my desire to make a 6dof calls me :)

Seeing this project draws my attention.

I have some doubts about the actuators.

The profiles used are not designed to withstand the slippage of PET-G plastic. Is it cirerto?

Does PET-G plastic support the friction of friction by the profiles?

    I attach a photo

    36085984123_e3b31cb40c_b.jpg

The printed parts. Are they 100% solid?

Thanks in advance and congratulations on the project.

Hi, sorry for the delay answering.

Yes, they are solid PETG, and they slide well in the AL profiles.
But make some printing tests if you want to follow my design.
I had no problems with friction util now.

I have a very important question:
I would like to buy BLDC-8015A drivers, but I read from the official characteristics that the PWM duty cycle is 1Khz.

    Senza titolo-1.jpg

I have a 15Khz PWM signal, can I use it anyway?

    hi @pmvcda!
i'm amazed by your project and your software.
I think i'll finally build my own simulator !
But i have a question: with a similar system like the one in your project, in fact esp32 + BLDC motor, but with a Nema 34 440w BLDC motor ( 86BLF04 ) and a 8015-a driver, would it be possible to create a direct drive wheel?

    Hello FlyPT,

We started building a 6DOF with your hardware. We've build 3 actuators and wired them on a testboard.
They all calibrate correctly: Going to max pos (switch) back to min pos (switch) and stay there.

When i connect the old FlyPT 6DOF software or the Mover software or SimTools whatever we setup the only thing the actuators are doing is going from min to max to min to max etc.... they are bounching away.

Even when we look at the serial debug and the numbers are solid (not changing) still everything bounches. We are a bit clueless what is happening here. Do you recognise this and maybe you can help us or give us a hint how to solve this?

    Hi, sorry for the delay.

I will look at this tomorrow.
But for the latest ESP32 code you need to use the latest Mover version.

There was an error on the schematics, but I think it's already corrected in the posts. Need to see it, I don't remember now.

Depends on the motor ccontroller you have.
What is done here, is for the BLDC8015A

    Hi

What is the max weight this project can accept ?
Thank you, I'm just thinking in a 6DOF platform for my Cessna 172 Cockpit

Congratulations about this very good project

    Hi all

Does anybody tried to use the motors 57BLF03 to make this project ? Does it work well ?

    Thank you

Yes, 57BLF03 motors work well for this project.

Thank you for your answer, just one more thing, does the code works also without change or must be changed for these motors ?

The ESP32 code works ok. I am using the 57BLF03 motors with BLDC8015A drivers and version 11.3 of the code, and it works well.

    Nice
It's a huge difference in the price for the others motors, thiese ones I can get right now including the controller at 73.95 on aliexpress.
Did you make the project for car simulation or flight sim ?

Mostly use it for driving sim, but occasionally for x-plane.

One thing that might be useful if you are using ESP32 and BLDC8015A - in the circuit shown for the ESP32 there are 5 level shifters. I found that it works better if you only use 3 level shifters (for the hall signals only). The two other level shifters on the right (circled in red) are for the PWM and the Direction, and it seems like the BLDC8015A will accept these signals as the 3.3v output from the ESP and doesn't need to be shifted up to 5v. This made a big difference, especially to the speed of the 57BLF03 motors. With the level shifter on PWM, I could not get 3000rpm from the motors because the level shifter seems to effect the width of the pulse. Without the level shifter, the motors work much better.

    Thank you so much.
I'm starting to develop it, I'll be using the BLDC8015A also.
But I'm going to put my Cessna 172 cockpit on the platform, and for a plane I think the forces won't be high as it should be for a car simulation

    Hi All

I'm just creating the PCB controller boards for this project on PCB, after finishing it I'll post here the gerber files for the guys that would be interested. I'm puting also some jumpers if anyone want to try with the right Level shifter and without them.

    Cheers

    Hi guys

Attached is the zip file with the gerber files to fabricate the PCB. Note that the J4, J5, J6, J7, J8 and J9 will be used only if we don't want to use the 2 Right Level Shifters.
I just have ordered 5 pcs at jlcpcb.com. Never tried them before, let's see how does it go.
Another note, the 3 left level shifters, the orientation is with the LV on the left side, there is a LV and HV markers on top on the PCB side Silkscreen. The 2 on the right side are the same orientation.
The pcb size is 70x123 mm
