    hello!

rigidity is good? did you calculate the gravity center ?
what kind of motors will you use for this project?

    good luck!

The support the steering wheel at first sight seems fragile, perhaps need some reinforcement

I will keep all of your suggestions in mind but does anyone know what else I need right now to get accepted for the code?

I am using 2 Uxcell 24v Wormgear motors powered by 2 12v hp-460 12v power supplies that I have converted

If you mean a SimTools DIY license key then this is the eligibility criteria:

To qualify for a free license:

    • You must be building a true DIY motion simulator. (Not built from a kit or purchased from a simulator seller, a model simulator does not qualify.)
    • Have a unique build thread or Showcase in DIY Simulator Projects. (The thread should show some effort, which means it should show progress to the testing phase.)
    • Have been a member of the community for at least 30 days.

    What is the testing phase?

The requirement is to attach photos of your assembly until you get the time to test the electronics are simtools

like other users have mentioned already did you check the centre of gravity with the seat, pedals, steering wheel and most importantly you on it. It looks in the pic like the universal joint should be under the seat probably slightly forward of centre of the seat base. as it is at the rear of the seat your motors are going to have to work very hard to hold position so the drivers are going to get unnecessarily hot in my opinion. More heat = more cooling and wasted power from the power supply, you might want to check this
looking good so far but might want to beef it up a bit for stability, if u get the universal joint right adding extra weight to make it more sturdy wont matter in overall sim performance from what you have now in the pic. should improve it but just my opinion
    hope this helps

I did end up finding the center of gravity after and moved the U-Joint

As you can see I am running smc3 and yes the wires are very disorganized but I followed the exact wiring diagram in the smc3 tutorial for the ibt-2. When i go to turn up the PWMmax nothing happens. It could be a wiring problem because I'm no professional as you can see by the picture of my wiring, but this is my second try with this because it didn't work before so I re soldered and rewired it all and the same problems are happening. Is there anyone else that has ever had this problem? Also its been a while since i worked on this project which is why there is a 2 year gap in this but I have picked it back up lol. Any help is appreciated thanks

    Hi Jacob,

this is a post of mine where I explained the usage of SMC3 step by step.

You can also look at my build thread as I also started with PS4.
