Thanks so much for sharing your rig, it is a really neat compact design with great attention to detail :thumbs

Just an observation, it looks like sway may be incorrectly configured, it should lean away from a corner, roll is configured the opposite of sway.

By any chance do you plan on uploading the stl file for the Arduino/IBT2 mount, that is really neat?

    Hi @scruck ,
I have never seen such a comprehensive, streamlined and well-made video tutorial. It really covers every single detail of the build process and even shows where to find and how to install all the required software components, like the Arduino IDE, SMC3, etc. :thumbs

Your tutorial will surely be of great help for all those starting with building a simulator and will definitely save them a lot of time.

In my opinion, it deserves a highlighted spot within this forum so that every new user immediately finds it.

Greetings, if the sway was configured incorrectly, I have already corrected it, thanks for the clarification. on the .stl and .dwg files I will load them so that everyone has access to it. Thanks

thanks for such a good instruction. Could you throw off the screen of your changes along the axes if you did. Should the hall sensor be set to 0? can explain this how to properly configure it.

ok, I'll put an image with the changes, they are only changing the direction of the motors in sway, now I'm not on the pc when this will upload an image with the changes, greetings

I will wait . what about my question about the hall sensor? Below the video, you left links to some products from AliExpress. Could you give us the parameters for ordering Poleas mxl + correas? Thank you for taking the time to answer.

good, about the hall sensor when you have the platform level you have to calibrate it to 2.5V so that the maximum is 5V and the minimum 0V, also, I forgot to show it in the video, you have to configure the limits in the simtools, being A 360 ° sensor to avoid going from 5V to 0V and obtaining unexpected movements ... I will add all this with images ... on the MXL pulleys and belts the ratio is 40:20 and the inner diameter for the 40T is 17mm ( motor shaft) and the 20T 6mm (hall sensor shaft), the belt has a total length of 200mm. Greetings

As I said in the previous answer I attached images of the simtools configuration
    ( a ) AXIS ASSIGNMENTS:
    DOF 1:
I remove the pitch because I do not like the feeling of raising or lowering the platform with track level

    DOF 4: Sway
I change the direction of the motors with respect to the video because it turned in the opposite direction

    AXIS LIMITING:

OUTPUT TYPE > TOTAL DEGREES USED FOR AXIS:
    ALWAYS ROTATIONAL

    SENSOR HALL PLATFORM LEVEL:
    THE CLOSEST TO 2.5V

I am not entirely sure, but it will be around 30 ° or 40 ° I would not know how to tell you for sure, when I get home I will check it for you.

Do you think this would be suitable for a Flight Simulator in VR (MSFS)?

Greetings, it depends on what you are looking for to simulate back, the movements of the platform still fall short, but I have tried VR for example in roller coasters ... and the feeling is great ... I think it can be used in flight perfectly.

How did you make those "arms" or "levers" that go from the motor shaft to the push rod? I have a plastic 3D printer, but yours look like some kind of metal 3D printing. What alternative ways to do that with only access to basic instruments?

good, if the arms are made of aluminum, design the arms in autocad and send them to a laser cutting company to make them, this company has a maximum thickness of 5 mm in aluminum so I made 4 arms and joined 2 for me give the 10mm thickness that I wanted ... Greetings

Why didn't your expectations come true? On a test ride (on video), it seemed to me that the platform did not react very much. Maybe because the levers are small or you set it up so.

good, being new to this I do not understand much the configuration of simtools, I suppose it is a matter of configuring it to taste. All the best
