    I tried that but it won't move off the bottom. No matter which was I rotate it. Interestingly though when I check the voltage from the positive leg to the Vout I get exactly 1 volt in difference which is 4.08 volts.

    That seems to me to indicate a wiring or hardware problem. Check the wiring to the pot, including polarity, and if you have more that one swap them over, to try and pin down where the issue is.

    Thank you Noorbeast, I have checked and double checked the wiring as per the diagram. I wonder if my sensor is faulty as you mentioned so I will try another one.

    Update: I tried the second sensor and got no change. I am using a mega until my uno arrives but I think the structure should be similar and the pins universal. Having said that I switched to several different pins and still the same. Do you think it could be the difference in boards?

    Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the ground go to GND the positive go to +5v and the sensor connect to Vout and also be connected to A0 on the board.

    SMC3 is written for the Uno, so the Mega may be the issue.

    I have an uno on the way and I kinda hope that's it but logic would state that with the mega simply being an extended uno that the syntax would be the same.

    Hello and good morning, unfortunately the Voltage remains the same at all times. The Voltage going in is 5.08 and the Vout Voltage is exactly 4.08 in every direction the switch is turned even when turned completely around 360 degrees.

    remove the signal wire from the pot and test again

    I have, the input voltage is 5.08 and the output voltage is 4.08. I am at a loss as to why I am losing one voltage. ON the other the voltage always stays at 4.08 no matter where I turn the Pot.

    Remove the pot and benchtest it with no other wires just 5v and gnd
