Full Frame 2 DOF + Traction Loss new build

I just stumbled across your videos and subscribed. I’ve been on the fence about what style sim rig to start on and have been lurking for a while trying to find a decent option.

I’m very interested in the more compact design you are working on currently (seat mover). I compiled a list of parts based on the parts used for your previous build. But I’m curious if the wiper motors gave you good results or if I should just purchase the larger pot motors in the first place.

I’ll be starting a thread soon when I get a little closer to starting. Thanks for the inspiration.

Dave, did you use a fully threaded (threaded all the way up and down) bolt?

Yeah, that should work fine! Mine is probably chevy, but it has a rubber damper or something in the tranny side. I just welded around it.

These are the motors I used and they are great'. I run 24 volts and they are more than powerful.

Great job on your Sim rigs. It was your YouTube videos that made me decide I needed one. So thanks for the inspiration and I'm sure I will be checking back on here and keeping up with the current video series as I to have purchased some wheelchair motors.

Does the Arduino need to be powered sepertly or is receiving power through the ibt2 connected to the psu?

Good question.. But easy answer. The Arduino is powered by plugging into your computer USB which is 5Volts. The IBT-2's are just used to control motors, which will be powered by either a big battery or some type of voltage converter.. I just posted a video series on my channel focusing on all this stuff.. take a look if you have time DMAX

Yeah those look cool so I have run them on both 12 volt and 24 volts.. I posted a couple videos on my YT channel testing them.. The Jazzy ones I got seem to be 18:1 What ratio are the ones you got? Dave

Thank you for all the information. I've been following since ur 2nd video for the seat mover project. Your videos gave me the confidence to try. I cant afford to buy everything at once. So I just buy something off of my shopping list every week or so. So far i have three (ElectroCraft MP36) motors, two Adruinos (one for diy seatbelt tensioner), three IBT-2's, rod ends, a u-joint and a welder. It's slowly coming along. Im gonna make mine more of a compact design. I have a few sketches drawn up but still tweaking. Once I start building it I'm gonna make a thread on here. Thanks for your videos and always replying to my messages. I truly appreciate it. I'm super excited to get mine started.

I've worked a little with the Audrino. I did the diy Rumble Pedals, shifter and bass shakers. (They are amazing, I can't play VR without them)
I've been buildings things since I was really little but never done anything like this. So its all uncharted territory for me. I don't think I would have every tried to build this without your videos. Thanks again

Yeah.. Definately make a thread on this forum .. I did, but I was like you and kind of ordered a couple things here and there until I had most of it ready to go.. I am doing a series right now on my YT channel about building a more 'compact' design.. It's not compact yet.. but I'm going to start moving the motors in little by little and figure out the best place where they work great but not strain too much. Plus I will add TL to the compact rig.. Anyway, Keep pluggin away.. If you have questions, I always just ask 'Noorbeast' the moderator of this site.. He knows everyone and everything about this stuff.. DMAX
