    and that's an other type of motors i suppose, when i came to this forum two weeks ago i didn't even know the difference between AC and DC motors :grin

    Think Stepper motors as DC motors, that can be positioned similar to servos but without sensors. They move when you alternate its direction coils in certain order. Usually draw terrible large currents in operation for their lock step motion.

    Fluid motion is the last thing you should consider using steppers for... they are designed for single speed motion to position certain load with fixed accelerations. Great for CNC, 3d printers or repetitive actions....
