    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, 3DOF, DC motor, Arduino, 4DOF, 6DOF
I'm half way though my build (hopefully half way)

All wired up, but when I come to command the motors to move in SMC3 they only move downwards (see picture)

I've doubled checked my wiring and it looks to be okay.

    Any help would be great!

    Thankyou ~J

Did you check my suggestion that I posted to your build thread, in which you asked exactly the same question?

Hey, I had a similar issue and fixed it by changing the baud rate to 112500. Let me know if this works for you. Some third party Arduinos can't handle a 50000 baud rate and will mess up motor positioning causing twitching and, as you said, one direction commands.

Thankyou for that. I ended up replacing the UNO board yesterday and it fixed the issue.
I will keep that in mind in case I run into future problems.

You should not need to touch the SMC3 code, other that specifying Mode 1 or 2 for your particular hardware.

You can set the baud rate in SimTools Interface Settings, though for Arduino it is usually set to BitsPerSec - 500000
