    Hello,

Jimmy, 41 years old from Nancy in Lorraine (France). I discovered simracing during the first confinement by wishing to offer my 9 year old son (now 11 years old) a steering wheel and a racing game. I bought the ACC and an entry level steering wheel. The son didn't understand, but I did Very Happy. I have since developed the Wink configuration.

    Computer: Intel i9, 32 GB 4800 MHz, RTX 3080Ti
    Steering Wheel: Thrustmaster TS-XW
    Crankset: Thrustmaster T-LCM
    Screen: Samsung Odyssey G9
    Chassis: Playseat
VR headset: Oculus Quest 2 (I disagree).

I put Bass Shakers and Motor Shakers on my chassis, but my future project would be to make myself a chassis in aluminum profiles and put the seat in motion. Hence my interest in your forum.

Looking forward to reading you. I might have a lot of questions before I start.

Well, here we are. RJ from New Jersey. Car fanatic, tinkerer, racer, lover of techy stuff. I've been waiting for this for most of my life. Ever since I saw the first motion rig at the arcade, I said I need one of those at home. The internet racing has finally developed to the point that I felt the need to get involved and the sim tech has finally gotten away from feeling like a toy. It is time. As I type this my 3dof rig was just just dropped off on my doorstep so here we go. I know nothing about motion rigs. I'll be reading a whole let here. I did kinda punk out and get a DOF rig to try at first because it wasnt too pricey and I'm already so far over my head in trying to get one to work, I wanted to skip the fab stage... for now. I'm quite sure I will regret it at some point. I reached out to a vendor to figure out what gear to start off with and I ended up with Simagic. I wanted some lower end stuff, but no so low end it felt like I was playing Indy on my Genesis. Again, I don't know but I may regret that too. Computer is a 3080 machine that seems up to the task and the monitor is a 49" G9. My biggest fear is not that I won't get it to run, I will with some help from here, but my fear is that the whole thing is going to make me sea sick. Probably should have tested before I jumped in but in case you haven't figured it out I just go wide open and hope for the best. Never good advice in life or racing but its been a fun ride for sure. I do thank you all for having me and I hope someday to be a contributor to the site and not just a user.

    Welcome @AintQik.

You have come to the right place, many here started in the same place as yourself, with a burning desire for their very own motion rig, but no real experience. Luckily the community here freely share their expertise.

The FAQs are a great place to start: https://xsimulator.net/community/faq/

In particular check out the SimTools section: https://xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-settings-tips-
    and-tricks.18/category

When you are ready please start your own thread in the Commercial section and ask any questions you may have there: https://xsimulator.net/community/forums/commercial-simulators-and-peripherie.52/

Good luck assembling and configuring your new rig.

Hi all, I’m new here. I have a little real world racing experience in RX7s and KTM X-Bows. I Just got an insanely good deal on a CXC pro motion 2 simulator. Gonna gave tons of questions soon as I’m finding the car steering is extremely twitchy when I tried out Assetto Corsa on it this morning . I’m in southeastern North Carolina, USA.

    Hello everyone,
we are two students from Austria. We are 18 and 19 years old and love to play video games, watch TV and go outside. For a school project we are building a 2DOF motion simulator. We attend a technical school, but motion simulation is new to us. We want to use old truck wiper motors to build a 2dof motion simulator.

    Hello,
I am a teacher from Belgium. Found this place and seen amazing things here.
I am hoping to make my own 2DOF, my own buttkicker and if there is time left... haptics.
I love flightsims and I hope that what I learn here I can use for my students.
    Looking forward to start.
Can somebody point me to must see threads for 2DOF, buttkicker and haptics ?
    Thanks for having me around.

    Hello everybody,
I live in Italy and I've completed my static DIY cockpit for Flight Simulator.
Recently I entered the VR side of the simulation and feel like that's the way to go for me...so I already started to purchase the electric-electronic components I need for assembling a 2DOF motion platform.
In the meanwhile, I am designing it with Sketchup.
This community is a great source of inspiration and information, thanks to all of you!
