    Hi All,

I am a relative new member here and I would like to share with you
my first 2DOF simulator seat which is my own work.
My wish was a very compact motion sim rig 15 years ago but everyone built a huge sim rig that time
So I gave it up. I have attached two pics about the beginning. :)
But now I have an eight years old son...
So I have built a little one (for me of course). :)
    See the attached video.
This is almost the actual state (I had to rebiuld the whole
electricity because ontly one motor worked).
If anyone interested in my project, I will share any detail.
And of course I have a lot of question too.
First of all SMC3 is working well my 2dof seat is moving finally
but simtools does no do anything.
Do I need a licence code for simtools in demo mode? 2010.10.10. Upgrade (kormánykonzol)_057.jpg 2010.10.10. Upgrade (kormánykonzol)_083.jpg IMG_4808.JPG

    So there is the actual state in pictures. :) IMG_5726.jpg IMG_5727.jpg IMG_5728.jpg IMG_5730.jpg IMG_5732.jpg

Thank you for your every quick response Noorbeast!

Yes, I have downloaded LFS demo version (almost after 15 years again :) )
and run a race, so lfs is patched now.
I am using simtools demo version, however, it is connected to the lfs
Simtools output testing does not work (SMC3 is working with my seat it is moving as I wish).
I am using an original arduino uno and two IBT-2 motor driver.
And of course I have used RufusDufus fantastic 2DOF description and utilities.
I have attached my Simtools settings.
Now my main issue is Simtools does not anything my working 2DOF seat.

    Thank you for your effort!

Shutdown LFS and SimTools, then restart just SimTools by itself and test if Output Testing is working.

    Unfortunately not. :(
I have tried everything but simtools does not do anything.
My seat seat is moving well under SMC3 (see the attached screenshot)
but simtools (version 2.6) does not work.
I have reinstalled simtools changed usb port tried to use simtools without lfs and game manager
but the result is the same simtools does not work.
I have watched many videos on youtube in this topic but everyone else's simtools is working very simlpe.
I saw only one difference when I turn off output testing in my case there is not any countdown.
I really do not know what is the problem.

If SMC3 works and SimTools does not then something is interfering with SimTools, or SimTools settings need refining, It is a case of figuring out which for you particular hardware, programs and settings.

I just want to make sure you are not running SMC3 and SimTools at the same time, as that would cause a port conflict?

@yobuddy do you have any suggestions?

Of course smc3 and simtools are not running in the same time.
Very interesting and the most annoing thing now:
I wanted to avoid any port or hardware conflict so I made a fresh new
install (arduino, smc3, simtools) on an other pc (a laptop) there was not any problem during the intallation process but finally the same issue....
The smc3 and my seat are doing as they have to but simtools does not do anything....
On this new machine there is only one difference arduino is on COM4 not COM9. And the whole hardware is not same but the problem is the same.
I think somthing is wrong with simtools.
The operating system is the same: the newest version of win10.
All the required programs have installed as administrator permission and for every users under win10.

    Is this normal?
In this directory sub directories are empty:

    c:\Users\Szczgyula\AppData\Local\SimTools\GameEngine\Config\

The Config folder will be populated when there are configurations saved for each game, so yes being empty is normal on a brand new install.

Why does this show 2 instances of Game Engine:

Try downloading SimTools so you know it is not corrupted, temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus then clean install the newly downloaded SimTools, do the basic Interface and Axis Assignment configuration of the Default profile then try Output Testing.

There are no two instances of Game Engine. On the background there is your home page with Rufusdufus tutorial. :)
Ok I will install again, however, I think there is no hope...

Don't lose hope, it is either SimTools is corrupted in some way or misconfiguration somewhere, hence the suggestion to try a clean install from a newly download instance of SimTools.

    I have tried...
    1. Uninstall and delete every part of simtools.
    2. Download again from www.simtools.us (2.6 version 11.01.2023 same as is here)
    3. Turn off windows 10 firewall and virus protection.
    4. Install and parameter simtools 2.6.

And unfortunately the result is the same... simtools does not work :(

    Does it mean anything?

I thought a lot and finally I force the simtool 2.6 to work!
By the way I am an IT professional in my civil life, however, not sim racing programmer, I am working with bank systems, unix and database systems. :) And I made a stupid mistake what I have never tought about it!

    So do not have to
    1. reinstall (I had made is several times...)
    2. there is no interference
    3. no hardware issue

The mistake was in SMC3. If you set a properly SMC3 properties Do NOT change back the pwmax to zero! :) Simple close it and open the preset simtools and it will work! See the attached video and my recently SMC2 settings. :)
I have never tought if I close the SMC3 program (you won`t see neither in the task manager), it will remember the last settings.

Thank you for your help and your time NoorBeast!
I think I will have a lot of another question. :)
Next step I will try to use my seat with LFS demo.
