Hello. I'm a complete newbie to building a moving platform, so I'm asking for help. What is the best way to build a 2dof platform?

    The first scheme?
    Or the second?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English

Genuine MMs are no longer made, only clones which often have quality control issues, so go with IBT2 in scheme 1.

Thank you! Is it possible to use a 12 volt screwdriver motor and a car battery with characteristics like in the scheme I have attached as a test?

Never tried it with a screwdriver motor but expect it should work fine, as long as you also use a pot for positional feedback.

Hi all, can you please tell me if this electric motor with these characteristics will fit? Or do I need to use a lower speed motor?

    Thanks in advance!

It is somewhat difficult to talk about a motor independent of a design.

You can use SimCalc to help examine the tradeoffs between physics and design, to check what motors and associated may be required for a particular design and desired level of performance: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

Hey, mate. I started assembling the electronic part of the rig a couple days ago. For the test I chose windshield wiper motors instead of screwdriver motors. And I bought a 400 watt 33A power supply instead of using a car battery.

    What problems did I encounter?

    The first problem.

After assembling the electrical system, my motors rotated only in one direction. I tried to find errors in the wiring but never found them. What I did was to reverse the polarity of the motors. But that didn't help either. They just started spinning the other way. I wanted to write about my problem in my thread, but decided to use the search on the site. And found the solution in this tutorial

    https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...and-windows-utilities.4957/page-28#post-74247

    Thank you kind person!

By reversing the polarity of the potentiometer on the first motor everything worked fine. But with the second motor, changing the polarity of the potentiometer did not help. More precisely it helped but only after replacing IBT2, it turned out to be defective.
Here I share screenshots of the work of motors in SMC3Utils v1.01

    The second problem.

I didn't have the setup working in the LFS game. It turned out that installing software also has its own nuances. I followed the advice of noorbeast https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...o-telemetry-at-game-engine.12574/#post-164657 Everything worked! And thank you good man!

Perhaps my links will help someone =)

Next I'm going to build a wooden frame and mechanical parts to test it before translating it into metal.
