Hydraulic dof sim

    Good morning from here in new zealand
    Im here to introduce myself self im jake im currently wanting to build a dof sim to go with my virpil helicopter controls

    Iv stumbled across an old kids helicopter ride its all hydraulic controlled before i hit go and go pick it up its only 150nzd i feel there would be valuable parts to use

    Engineering welding lathe work wiring im excellent at but computer integration is going to be my down fall am i biting off more then i can chew ?

    I would love to tap into the wealth of knowledge on here and see what you guys think

    Attached is a photo of the kids ride obviously im only thinking the bottom hydraulic system base part

    Generally speaking these type of amusement rides tend to run proprietary stuff, so if you plan using the shell and changing out the actuators and hardware for something like servos then fine, but if you think you can control the existing hardware then likely not.

    Ah thanks i thought there may of just be a hydraulic pump and hydraulic cylinders i thought there may of been a way to control the flow Via controlling electric solenoids

    It would seem like it would have all the correct movements that id would need

    I understand the big professional commercial simulators are hydraulic am i way off the ball park here

    Years back @Thanos created a board to jailbreak some of these old amusement sims, but that has long since been discontinued.

    its an interesting idea, i think about something similar .... what if you put some ballscrew driven cylinders in it to pump the fluid into the actuators ? so you can control the ballsrew pump tubes like normal linear or rotary actuators .... ?!
