and I just found out, that I can run the GT7Proxy.exe directly from the terminal (when I copy it to another folder), but not via batch file, like it worked all the time before

    Hello All.
I'm trying to see if the GT7 plugin and proxy will work with Gran Turismo Sport on PS5.
    I loaded the GT7 plugin (simtools 2.6). (Windows 10 pro 64 bit).
    I downloaded the proxy.exe.
    Set with PS5 IP.
    Shut down antivirus and firewall.
    Start game on PS5.
    Start simtools and game engine.
    Start proxy.exe with PS IP.
Get windows error 10054 - existing connection forcibly closed by the remote host.
    Any ideas or help ?
Looks like connection to the PS IP is present, as if I turn off PS, or turn on firewall, and / or antivirus the message on the proxy changes to " exception timed out".
    Any help appreciated.
    Warren

how would someone ever come to the conclusion, that a highly specific GT7 plugin was in any way compaptible to GT sport?
I am no expert at all, but I am 100% sure that there is absolutely no way this would ever work.

    Hello Tazerface.
Well. I had a conversation with Vthinsel. He wrote the plugin and proxy.
There is GT7 plugins for V2 and he says the proxy works for both.
Vthinsel asked if I could test as he thinks it may work for gt sport too.
I see you posted that you had the error 10054 at one time - What was your fix or conclusion ?
I also messaged Vthinsel direct, but no reply yet.
So I thought I would post here too, as the 10054 error is already mentioned.

oh wow, that is really interesting! I wasnt aware of that, thanks for letting us know!!

I am still facing the error 10054 each time i run the proxy, couldn't get rid of it but there is also no need to, as it works anyway.
So you shouldn't have to take care of it, but I also don't have any other suggestion for you, as I didn't test with GTsport for now.

For me, I just start windows with the proxy and once a race is launched, telemetry flows in directly.
Just make sure to point at the correct IP address of the PS and the specific port.

When I installed the GT7 plugin to simtools v2 it crashed the software directly - good to know this was fixed, but I'd still recommend using v3.

    That's interesting too.
I set the PS5 IP, no problem.
But I have seen no information on how to set the port, or which port to set, in the proxy.
Do you know where the instructions are for port settings ? - I have searched for many hours, but this thread is the closest thing I have found.
    Thanks.

    Great. Thank you.
Where do you find which port to select..
PS5 network settings, or is the port for simtools ?

Hello. It is not that simple, sorry. Port is not the same (not an issue as it is a parameter) but data is not encrypted the same way. Data structuré looks to be the same. Will need some tweaking.
Btw the plugin exists for simtools v2 and v3, but v3 is the way to go. The proxy is the same though.

    Hi Vthinsel.
    Thanks for your reply.
If this is going to be hard, it's not really worth doing the work for just one person.
I have seen that SRS ( hope I'm allowed to mention them here) , have listed compatibility for GT7 and GT Sport on PS4 and 5.
I have made enquiries, about how well it works, but no replies yet.
I'm considering buying an SRS licence (£44 UK) if I get good feedback that it will work, to save the work and time required to make it work on simtools.
    What do you think ?

Well, the issue is that I do not have GT sport myself. I would need at least a capture to investigate more in depth but this will take some time for sure.

    How would the capture work.
The proxy just shows the connection is terminated by the host. ?
Unfortunately I know little about software programming.

    BIG UPDATE !
I purchased Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 and did some testing.
    GT7 motion working first test.
    Proxy - All Good.
    Simtools 2.6 - All Good.
GT7 plugin for simtools 2.6 - All Good.
Big Surprise - I turned on my PSVR1 ( yes the old VR), and it is also working with GT7 !!!
Everything online says GT 7 only works on VR2, but it's working good with my VR1.
    Very happy at this point.
    Thank you, Vthinsel. Great job.
Also thanks to Tazerface for helping me with the port configuration.
Next job for me, making wheel and pedal mounts for my rig - set up for flight only up to this point.
    Thanks everyone
    Warren.

    Yes.
It appears VR1 works in cinema mode with GT7, on PS5.
It's not true VR, but it's still very usable. Reasonable quality, although lower resolution than VR2.
Good for me as my rig has no monitors. So I can use GT7 with VR1 untill I decide to get a VR2.
I already had the camera adapter as I built the rig for flying in star wars squadrons etc... that works in true VR as it's a PS4 game. All running on PS5 with the camera adapter.

PS... Sony were sending free camera adapters if you requested it on their website, for your PS5.
Not sure if that deal has expired now.
They are also available on Amazon.

i didn't know that VR1 was natively working on PS5, really good to know, thanks!

although, it is something extremely different if a game runs in VR or in cinemtaic mode, so for GT7 its not a deal to VR users at all, but an alternative to using a monitor on the rig, ofc.
I am playing with VR2 and it's just awesome, just the graphics quality is very low, this is sad.
I did install a monitor to my rig lately, but even with triples i just can't get used to it, the immersion is not even close, i guess i will stay with vr forever and have to take the bad quality - so moving on to the PC simulations +VR is the only logical next step, to get even better immersion.
