    Simulator

    1. Commercial or DIY: DIY
    2. DOF (Number of axles ): 2 (3 in the when i'm done)
    3. Actuators (DIY, SCN5 etc.): DIY 250w 75 RPM wheelchair motors
    4. Interface (Arduino, SCN, Mega, DIY etc. ): Serial Arduino SMC3

    SimTools

    1. Version Number: 3.0
    2. Game Plugin where the error is happening: IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad with Serial Actuator SMC3
    3. Settings (Relevant settings) Rotary Setup, axies1a, 2a configured at 40% for both Roll and Pitch, correctly inverted, tested and works in Test Mode

    Hello
I've been over all the settings and watched some tutorials, but i can't figure out how to get my rig moving with the telemetry data from the game. The "Test Settings" work perfect, but when i fire up the game, nothing happens. I fiddled around with the Min/Max Settings, going from 0.2 all the way up, capture data while in flight etc.

I also tried other Axies Plugin that allow me to switch to rotary, but it just doesn't feed the game data and translate it into action. I also know that IL-2 seams to have two datasets, one for flight and one for ground. I tried starting from ground and also one where i was in flight.

At this point, i need some help, maybe i'm missing something

Can you please post pictures of all of your settings.

If Test Settings works it is likely motion profile related patching, configuration and refinement that is the issue.

    Hi there noorbeast

here you go, i hope it's all. :)

on a sidenote; MSFS works, well the axies are all over the place, and i need to do the finetuning, but i got movement ingame.

second sidenote, i had to modify the startup.cfg for IL-2 to get the telemetry for flypt mover, but i switched to simtools. as i can see input data in simtools i think that is not the issue tho.

There is game data in the top row of the Min/Max Tuning, so it is working.

In a flight sim you can use much higher Roll and Pitch axis allocations, as outside of violent maneuvers and a crash it is unlikely both axis will be at their limits at the same time, try around 80 for each.

    Then capture the Min/Max values.

And unless there is a good reason for it, like using SCNs which are prone to breakage at their limits, you should not need axis limiting.

well nothing with those settings neither. i was playing around like for 4 hours yesterday going all over those settings. i should have at lease some movement, but nothing

the 80% limit is because margin of security, the rotary setup i have runs not true 180° and i can't crop the movement any further in the smc utility :)

i did now a reinstallation of simtools and did the setup again.
furthermore, i added a park position with a slight offset to see if simtools recognize that i'm flying.

the rig does move from park to neutral position once i'm in the game and flying, but again, no movement, despite the fact that the input roll and pitch are changing.

i used game limits max/min from 2 over to 80 and 180 for both actions, and no axies moves, not a even a tiny bit.

the side effect of reinstalling and setting up everything again, i can now start il-2 out of simtool by double clicking it, that before did not work.

edit: epic roller coaster works now also perfectly. so i might say that the issue is with the plugin by elimination. again, i just read that air/ground in il-2 is not possible. so maybe there is something

at this point, i have to conclude that the plugin does not work and it's a bug

i've gone ahead and added a virtual output, while in all the other games, with the same settings, i have movement on axis1a and axis2a, il-2 does not translate the output via "generic 2d standart" - i also tried the others (basic etc.)

the result of the tests attached as screenshots.

Please, if the devs have time to look it over, i kinda need simtools, as flypt is way out of my ability to make the geometry and setting work. Plus i'd not like to buy yet another thing, like the coins to get the plugin for v2.x - which would be the next thing to test for il-2. i allready paid the full amount for the license as i couldn't wait the 30 days :grin

    Hi @Yeti86,
It looks like we push the plugin originally without Max/Min values for OnGround (which it defaults too as it has no in air vs on ground indicator in its telemetry output for the game)

To fix it, please click here (so it shows a runway, ground icon)
    upload_2023-12-6_11-43-54.png

Then enter the same values you have for "in the air" and it should spring to life.
(We are currently updating the plugin (we are flipping a few DOF directions too) and will push the update shortly.)

Please let me know how it goes,
    yobuddy

thank you for the most awesome Christmas present for a very long time
