    Hey man, welcome!

The FR120N module is commonly used.
It’s controlled by the mcu usually.

Yeah, you don’t need a big mosfet since it’s only the wattage you generate that needs to be converted to heat.

Hey guys, i am pretty New to this topic and have one or two questions.
    1. So you only need that odrive clone + Mosfet + brakeresistor and encoder to make this happen?

    2. I ordered the encoder today and will be able to get a hoverboard with dead batteries tomorrow or so.
I have an arduino uno and hobby-grade drone ESCs (35A / 24V). Thought I could use those but I get the feeling that it won't work. :/

But AFAIK it would be the cleanest with odrive or a clone. Right?

Got it running for a week now.
I used the "bldc-ffb-wheel" Firmware from olukelo's github.
Can someone explain what all those options mean?

Made a second one for my brother in law. This one has a few design changes:
    - Braking resistor mounted directly to hoverboard chassis for better heat dissipation
    - Vented rear cover for the hoverboard motor (i found my original would get quite hot after a couple of hours of F1 23)
    - ODESC 4.2 Controller
    - AMT 10E2 encoder (5120PPR/21480 CPR)
    - Remixed @Chris_Beeves cover with a new bottom half based on scanning my hoverboard base in then blending in the top half of his, then added some vents, an internal fan mount and my own "Hover X" text

This uses the original FW from the github, not the new beta FW from discord, as the original firmware works perfectly with the Thrustmaster wheels with all the buttons working, The Beta FW doesnt support the D-Pad but @Roman Smoliakov might fix that one day....

I also made a different desk mount, loosely based on the TM 300RS mounting system. it isn't as good as my original "brick". It has too much downward play if pushing down on the wheel. Going to come up with something else leveraging table clamps instead.

Once i figure out how to feed in these thrustmaster pedals as well it really will be nearly the prefect budget solution

    Hy ba114!
your wheel build is very inspiring, what power supply are you using for the odesc 4.2? enough power supply? what % force feedback are you playing with?

I'm using a dell/alienware R15 laptop power brick. It puts out 19.1v 12.3A which is plenty.
I have the power output limited to about 45 within the settings app and often turn down the FFB in game.

Hi ba114! I am a friend of Nándi88, we are building together this DD Hoverboard wheel mod. Can you upload your 3D PRint files for your MoBo holder and cover, and can you show me how you mounted the Encoder to the motor?

    Thanks!

Hello, congratulations, good project, very good construction.

The question I have is the BLDC-FFB-WHEEL firmware, with what simulation games have you tried it?

and how it behaves, what is the sensation?
