    Hi,

I've recently been getting the below error message when starting Dirt Rally 2.0. It has earlier worked fine.

I run on a Prosimu rig.

    ERROR MESSAGE
Access violation at address 0xeff3dbb7 in module 'dirtrally2.exe' + 0x8ddbb7.
    dirtrally2.exe

I can sometimes get the game to start, but the rig won't move. it starts up in a 'starting position' but won't move during racing.

Not sure what's wrong. I have a 4060 Ti graphics card on an i5 computer.

    /Richard

Can you please add a bit more specific context, such as what version of SimTools are you using?

Can you also please post a picture of the full error message.

Does the game still crash without motion?

Thanks for your quick reply @noorbeast !

I´ve tried to do some more testing, and have found a way to get past my issue. After getting the error message, i can remove the patch for Dirt Rally and then patch it again. Then the game works and the simulator moves.

I run on Sim Tools 2.6.

If i do not start the simulator, the game works fine. Also with the steering wheel, pedals and handbrake (Moza).

I´m uploading a print screen of the error message as well.

That is a weird one for @yobuddy to consider. My guess is that is likely a DR2 game issue.

Maybe give SimTools v3 a shot, the Dirt Rally 2.0 plugin for v3 seems to be working just fine here anyway.

Thanks @yobuddy. I'll give it a shot. Haven´t ever 'upgraded' simtools before. Do i just install v3 or do i need to uninstall v2.6 first? Anything specific i need to think about when doing this upgrade?

Both SimTools v2 and v3 can be installed on the same machine, and the same license can be used for both.

Thanks. Quick follow-up question: Today i don't start e.g. game engine manually, it simply starts up when i start the computer and then lives in the system tray. Running both v2 and v3, will i have two game engines at startup, both sitting in the system tray?

It might be a no-brainer when i try it out (which i can't do right this moment).

Got it. I will then remove them from the startup apps, and start them manually moving forward. Hope the v3 sorts out my issues. Thanks for the help so far. Your are golden! Keep it up!

Regarding v3, i have gotten v3 version 1.5 from Prosimu earlier. is this still the latest v3 version? Can't find it here to download.

SimTools v3 auto updates, so no matter where it is, it should update to the current version.
    Take care!

Just a quick feedback on this topic (more of an FYI). I updated my Nvidia drivers, and after that the error message has disappeared. At least for now, but hopefully forever :)

    Still running on v2.6.

    Thanks again for your help!
