We're on the same page but a few clarifying things.

    * I plan to set this up in public at various conventions. If this were a home setup I think it would be worth the effort to set up the projectors but constantly aligning them will be an issue with the way I plan to do it.
    * I'm going to get a curved screen, so not exactly flat.
    * VR would be excellent but I've learned that people don't really like to see it in public, especially after Covid.
    * This screen would probably work well for you helicopter project. Once I've made sure the screen works I'll probably put it on the market fyi.

I too planned a helo setup, using a dome. But the issue you mention about seeing the ground under the pedals was my main concern (also applies above your head), but this is remedied by using more projectors. This then adds to the ambient light, and reduces available contrast. Hence, I too opted for flat screens, which will do for now, but I know I'll not be happy untill I get a domed screen.
'Video walls' are growing in popularity, but curved video walls are still in the unicornisphere, with prices to match.

    You guys remember this one?

Because of the recent storms I've hit a snag in the simulator this thread is about so I've moved onto messing with these. I wish I had done so sooner!

Inside was a Thanos AMC already installed. I was able to get it working in only the time it to learn how use it.

So I'm going to create a thread to talk about that, my main goal is to get the fourth articulator and full 360 yaw working. I thought I'd ask here firs though, this is going to be 100% for home use but it's built on a commensal pad. what category should it be?

It is a commercial rig so should go in the Commercial thread section.
