    Hello guys

I am currently building a 2Dof rig using two Toyota electric power steering motors, arduino uno r3, two 500W(40 amp) 12v power supplies and ibt2 motor controllers. The problem is that I cant seem to get the rig to work in with simtools. I am yet to get the full license because I am of the understanding that I can test the rig before activating simtools. The rig works as it should when using SMC3 but then does not respond at all when I try and use simtools. Is there something I am missing?

Can you please post pictures of SMC3 running the Sine test and all of your SimTools settings.

You are not so specific about what isn’t working. The steps could/should be to 1) exit from SMCutils 2) Start SimTools 3) Go to Axis setup in SimTools and set them up 4) Test Setup under SimTools.

Did you miss a step? I don’t see any SimTools axis setup screens.

    Hi Joe

There is no movement from the rig when I am testing in simtools. When I run smc3 the rig works the way its supposed to. I am still in the testing phase so I am yet to run Live For Speed. I am new to simtools but I'm also assuming that when I move the 1a Axis, one of the motors should move. I have been trying to do that but the rig remains motionless.

I was also sure to close smc3 before running Simtools

I don’t see the axis setup screen where you assign the function of each logical axis. The screen where you are likely to have 5 20% assignments.

    Change BitsPerSec to: 500000

Please post pictures of the rest of your SimTools settings.

    Hi.
I am not which other setting you are referring to. I think I might have missed them. I did however, change the bit rate to 500000 but i keep getting the same response. May you please show me which other settings I need to setup? I think that might be the problem.

    Thanks

    Hi Noorbeast
I'm happy to report that the setting you prescribed above have worked. Thank you very much. I am now getting a response from the rig when I test the interface settings. I am now looking to test the rig using Live For Speed and I will give an update on how it's going.

    Thanks
