    Hello, I would like to know the bare minimum requirements for a PC to run a SimTools and Live for speed.
    This would be for test purpose.
    I will by a more powerful PC in time.
    But I would like to get a PC, or laptop for testing the motor and jig motor.

    So what is the minimum PC requirements?
    What is needed Windows, port, video card, ram?

    Windows and .Net are required, other than that just about any computer will run SimTools, it uses very little resources.

    LFS is about as lite a simulation game as you can get, so grab the demo and make sure it runs on your laptop and you are good to go: https://www.lfs.net/downloadlfs

    What if I rephrase my first question, while were at it.
    If I don't by a cheap PC to make test and I go strait to buy the main game PC.
    What would be the minimum requirements for a PC to run the most demanding racing game and the Sim?

    It is a large question, there could be a few, intel, AMD etc.. but if you could point me in the right direction.
    I have been told that to mush power could create more heat.
    And I know that not enough is a pain.

    There are so many variables like budget, running games at their max or mid setting, or if VR is on the cards.

    I guess the simplistic answer is the highest spec machine you can afford. Personally I would say with AMD CPU and Nividia gpu.

    Look at steam or you prefered game, every developer has an minimum configuration.

    Does it make sense to buy an pc with minimum settings? Ofcourse not, buy an Playstation, much cheaper for better graphics and same experience.

    Keep in mind a Playstation can be used in conjunction with a PC and motion, but is very limited in the scope of games that can be used.

    I not going to buy a console. I want to build a sim, but I have nothing from the PC world. I always use Apple product. I am writing this post on my iPad.
    The first question, the bare minimum PC is for trying SimTool, SimCalc and testing the motor without spending 3000$+.

    I found :
    Lenovo Thinkpad P50, Intel Core i7 - 6820HQ - Nvidia Quadro M2000M 4 Go Vram
    for 500$ at a use PC store.

    The second question is to have a target as what am I going to need later.

    If it was a in the 1000$ PC, I would be better starting with that then burning 500$ on a old laptop.

    A low level desktop Is it any good? or just infuriating?

    What is your actual budget?

    Bottom end is going to struggle with modern sim titles at higher resolution, I would suggest something like the Intel Core i9-11900KF GeForce RTX 3070 8GB, 32GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe SSD, WiFi 6 or above, depending on your budget.

    Something like that should do OK on a desktop, would likely do basic VR, but would not do high end VR.

    I would have bought it today.
    Now the price of Core i9 GeForce RTX 4070 is mush higher.
