I have a DOF reality that i want to run from my Simtools.

i'm trying to connect to it in the interface and nothing is running.
i have set the COM to COM4
    baudrate: 115200
    bits: 8
    pirity: None
    stop bit: 1
    Rate: 10ms

    Output: <Axis1a>......

With a commercial rig you should, in the first instance, contact the manufacturer for support.

The DOFreality creator @Radioproffi is the best placed member here to assist.

That said, please post pictures of your settings, rather than a description, and check in Device Manager to confirm Com4 is correct.

thanks i did check DOFReality and they said they would not help since they only support officially Racing Sim, not SimTools.

this is what the settings look like below.

Yes in the Device manager, when you plug and unplug the motion simulator COM4 shows up so we know that its com4.

technically it should be pretty straight forward i thought.

One things i will have them try is to make sure Race Sim is not still running in the windows Processes.

We have changed the BitsPerSec to 500000, 9600 etc and still no go.

    any help would be nice.

here is the BS response from DOF Reality. if anyone knows how to get this working on Simtools that would be very helpful. We do not want to use SRS. i did find and notice that out bit-range was 8 and not 10. hopefully that works.

    >>We can’t provide any manual or configuration details for SimTools.
DOF Reality motion platforms are officially supported only with Sim Racing Studio (SRS).
Support for SimTools was discontinued in 2023, and there are no public COM-port parameters or serial protocols available anymore.
Our STM-based control units communicate exclusively with SRS using a closed protocol.

Sad, given the rig had its origins here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/diy-2dof-motionsim-wipers-smc-arduino.6241/

Try BitsPerSec at 500000, Output Bit Range at 10, and for the Interface follow this format and let us know how it goes: [A<Axis1a>][B<Axis2a>].....

thanks, i'll try that and cross my fingers.
Yes its pretty sad if they locked it down and it no longer works for simtools. I love simtools and sold my G-seat when SimXperience did the same thing with their protocol. i ended up creating my own g-seat from servos and 3d prints that i'll share shortly. simply the fraction of the cost and works awesome in Simtools.

i do have one question on your reply. you show [A<Axis1a>]... we were doing it like this <Axis1a>
what is the difference having the "A" and the []'s does that do something more i don't know about?

ok i think there is still some good news. Today the flight school was able to get SimTools talking with DOFReality P6. It appears the COM still works with the right settings above. Now on to the next phase for them.
Note: couple of things, the P6 is requiring two ports, COM4 and COM3. so the axis setting output <Axis1a>....<Axis3a> is required for each controller.

if there is a way to make them all on the same Axis1 that would be great

    does anyone know these settings?
