    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, JRK
Hi everyone my name is Domenic I live in Bega NSW Australia.
I bought a simulator from David (bsft) 2DOF machine.
I got my Ferrari Simulator, added the front of mine , and rear of David’s Simulator .
To make one, I had to build a new base and spray paint it ,
    and ad some modifications .
You see I used bricks to get height, and my old simulator had no motion.
So all I need to do was build a new base for it.
I am now learning how to use Sims tools, and how to assign everything , and getting the games to work to my likening.
I want to thank David (bsft) and Robert Lindsay (eaorobbie) for all there help, I don’t think ,I could got as far as I have, without them .
You can see I had to make a base, to get the height I needed, The only thing Needed to finish ,is to add some Ferrari stickers on the bottom section, to match up with top section ,Stickers are on ordered waiting on delivery.
I have added some picture of my simulator, and the making of it, thanks Domenic

Nice setup! The base you made gives everything a professional finish. Your rig looks like it could sit in an arcade. Very well done!

How many amps do those dc motors pull at load?

@Vassago , the motors under load are at stall current. I have had the JRKS at 38 amps max current and that was running the motors at full power with wild profiles. They could run higher, but they get very hot. The motors and JRKS that is.
Thanks to @eaorobbie help with PID and motor power settings, they would be running about 30 ish amps most of the time on @hyper1966 sim, which I sold to him. With a few quick peaks of up to 40 amps. Depends on how wild the profiles are though.
My mate @Rastus has these motors as well running off a single 12v 52 amp PSU, but he doesn't run huge profiles. So the power drain is not that high.
I suggest having too much power available to run them.

Would stall current be less if there is a gear box on the motor, or does current draw stay the same no matter what.

One more quick question I see a lot of people using car batteries place of psu. Is this a better route to take or is it more for testing purposes?

there is a gearbox on the motor 25:1 giving 20nm of real world figures torque at 16 amps rated. You could fit a 50:1 gearbox for more torque, but you would probably use the same sort of power.
I originally tested these motors when I bought them from motion dynamics, and they have been through many sim designs in many places. low end stall current is at least 25 amps per motor.
Shoulder mount allows a bit less power, but really, what are you trying to achieve? Saving a dollar or two on PSUs?

    both.
I used to use a car battery and PSU on now @hyper1966 sim, and on the other sim I used to have as well I ran the same power supplies Domenic is running.
Car battery is fine for either testing or full time use, just charge it after use.
